    Stopcock weeping

Quick update on this, it seems it mainly weeps if it's not open enough. I opened it fully and the closed it about 1 full turn and so far it seems to be staying dry. Will keep an eye on it. And when i go to shut it off, as I am shutting it off it starts weeping as it gets closer to the shut position.

Advice needed: fitting a 40mm shower waste with limited space

Unfortunately i cannot replace that stretch as that part is already beneath floor boards. in hindsight i should i have kept it longer. I'm thinking to dry fit and see how much i can make it move around specially up and down. If i can move the horizontol one up and down then maybe I can just...

Advice needed: fitting a 40mm shower waste with limited space

I’ve installed my shower tray and run a 40mm waste pipe from the soil pipe, as shown in my drawing attached below. At the moment, the 40mm pipe is only run up to the point where I plan to add a coupler — it’s currently cut and capped just to stop smells. I’ve made an access hatch from below so...

TMV constantly leaking in gasket inlets

Just did that. Blowing through the filter mesh thing you can feel a valve opens as you blow and blowing from the other side nothing comes out. So it is a strainer filter plus non return valve in one component. This one seems a lot better constructed though specially the way the inlets stay...

TMV constantly leaking in gasket inlets

So I bought a pegler brand one now. It doesn’t have isolators so I’m going to need to add isolators inline to it. But I’m trying to figure out if it has inbuilt non return valve or if I should get an extra non return valve. Basically it is this two sided thing pictured below one on each inlet...

Preventing leaks on recessed 1/2” shower outlet connections

Doesn’t putting it on dry without the thread cord mean it will essentially turn more on dry fitting compared to when fitting with the loctite 55? Or should it be able to reach the same number of turns that dry fitting reached even with the loctite 55?

Preventing leaks on recessed 1/2” shower outlet connections

On another note, if i've got a fitting that needs to end in an exact orientation. and if i'm tightening it and it feels like its getting tight and may not make it to the next full turn to align properly, what's the best solution for this? apparently loctite 55 is good for those cases where u...

Preventing leaks on recessed 1/2” shower outlet connections

lol. I’ve got this haha. For piece of mind I’ll smear some LSX over the loctite 55 cord too

Preventing leaks on recessed 1/2” shower outlet connections

Yes I have capped it and put a temporary pushfit valve to flush the pipes and there’s no leaks to the plate itself but even after temporarily capping it when it comes to the final install, i have to unthread the temp fitting and then thread the finishing item. And it’s the finishing item that is...

Preventing leaks on recessed 1/2” shower outlet connections

I’ve installed two 1/2” female wall plates for shower outlets, which will be covered with XPS tile backer boards and then tiled. Once tiled, the wall plates will sit a few millimetres behind the finished tile. The shower outlet fitting (1/2” male thread with a decorative cover) screws into these...

TMV constantly leaking in gasket inlets

Emailed the company to initiate a return. I’m just looking at alternatives and visually they all look similar. They all seem to use a gasket fitting. Biggest issue with this on is that the nut just wobbles around and there is nothing to keep the nut constantly centred

32mm solvent elbow angle problem - please help

Thank you so much. Great tip about cutting the coupler and adding the extra belts and braces. Genius idea. Will be doing this for peace of mind

32mm solvent elbow angle problem - please help

Thank you. The challenge of taking it out and redoing is the 32mm has been solvent welded to the Tee on the soil pipe it would mean having to cut the small vertical pipe from the soil Tee and coupling it. Then either replacing entire stretch it horizontal 32mm again or cutting and coupling that...

TMV constantly leaking in gasket inlets

Was doing ok for a few hours then just a little movement on the pipe while working then started leaking again. Tightened it a bit further as it’s not tight tight then stopped again. But same thing happening on cold side but every so often starts weeping again. Not really confident with this...

32mm solvent elbow angle problem - please help

Thank you. I used a combination of heating a long spare piece of pipe and slightly bending it and the 92.5 degree bend to just make it work. Only thing is the horizontal 32mm pipe that comes and inserts into the 92.5 bend if it’s supposed to insert let’s say 25mm approx into try bend I only...

TMV constantly leaking in gasket inlets

So I’ve managed to make it work without leaking so far. Keeping an eye on it for the next 24hrs see how it goes. But definitely think it’s very poorly designed. I had to completely removing it and have someone hold the two fittings 100% straight while hand tightening the nut. Making sure the...

TMV constantly leaking in gasket inlets

Also, please see the the pics below. I think there is something fundamentally wrong here. That bit that goes to thread into the body is supposed to surely sit perfectly centred to that body metal ring. I hope that makes sense. But if you look carefully you will see that it doesn’t. Unless the...

TMV constantly leaking in gasket inlets

I’ve attached a few pics. The two faces are flat and they provide this really thick black rubber that’s the exact size of the flat surface. But problem is the the main nut that comes and tightens to the body doesn’t not have anything that keeps it perfect centred so I think it just doesn’t sit...

TMV constantly leaking in gasket inlets

I purchased the following tmv thinking it’s a good brand as there were cheaper ones but thought would go for slightly more expensive: https://www.bes.co.uk/inta-intamix-thermostatic-mixing-valve-15mm-with-isolating-valves-26803/ The two inkers have a compression fitting to the isolation but...

32mm solvent elbow angle problem - please help

Thanks. Might give this a try tomorrow. Do you think it will manage to offset the difference in angle between the horizontal 32mm pipe and the soil pipe?
