PIR LED Security Light with Accessory Switching

That's not the same LED floodlight. This is a link to the correct documentation - look at page 5 (labelled '4' as they don't count the cover as page 1) under'ConnectionDiagram' It shows that there is a switched live output - but I think you need the plug-in PIR in order for that to be...

PIR LED Security Light with Accessory Switching

Yes, exactly! Sadly, that doesn't work for me as I am in Yorkshire and there isn't a TLC branch north of Birmingham! I did find this however (Timeguard LED PRO 10B) but it seems like it needs an additional (plug-in) PIR to do what I want it to do >> link here Luckily, there are two CEF...

PIR LED Security Light with Accessory Switching

So, title says it all really. I had a halogen security floodlight with an integrated PIR. The mains feed ran into the PIR and there was a switched live accessible (it went to the floodlight), so I ran a further cable from this light to another non-sensor light, such that when the PIR switched...

    Worst Tiling Ever??

An update ... Bathroom is now fully-installed (no thanks to Wickes i might add). However, Wickes gave us a full refund & compensation & left the bath, sink, cupboard, WC and vanity units. Took a guy recommended to us by a friend just over day to sort everything out. Ref posts #2, #50, #58 -...

    Worst Tiling Ever??

Indeed yes. However, much as it pains me, Wickes are not to blame for the shower being so high. Quite why my daughter didn't have it lowered (so that her two young children would be able to use it in future - they are currently 5 & 7) is beyond me. I would have both (a) had it lowered and (b)...

    Worst Tiling Ever??

Well, it is! (just to add some sparkle to the party) I much prefer soldered fittings (kinda bullet-proof really) and compression fittings after that (at least you can nip them up tighter if weeping or take them off and re-do if necessary). I'm not a fan of these push-fittings at all. If they...

    Worst Tiling Ever??

Okay - but what about the second picture where the leg isn't fully supported by the timber? In other words, neither end of the bath is supported properly. Is it also acceptable to use the customer's own materials without asking (it clearly isn't a new piece of timber). Also, the long side...

    Worst Tiling Ever??

I've had a reply from Customer Relations and they seem to think that supporting the bath on timber baulks (see post #2 this thread and reproduced below) is somehow acceptable. They are saying that the dry fit states that they use existing suitable pipework. They also say that they had...

    Worst Tiling Ever??

UPDATE: Nothing from Wickes Customer Relations (48hrs since "I'll get back to you shortly"). Made initial contact with my local BBC Radio station and three local newspapers to see if they would be interested in the story. No real details divulged yet as I'm hoping (some may say vainly) that...

    Worst Tiling Ever??

Thanks for that link to David Wood. I have already emailed him which has gotten Customer Relations involved. They seem to move at glacial speed however. Just posted an anonymous compaint on their Twitter feed and replied to their brush-off response. XRD

    Worst Tiling Ever??

Well, yes, you'd think so wouldn't you? The inataller (!) originally used ordinary plasterboard around the bath - including the area for the shower. He tiled over that (with the results shown on page 1 of this thread) and was told to rip it all out and go back to the studwork and re-board...

    Worst Tiling Ever??

Managed to look on Monday to see if the bath was supported on the wall sides & ends with a batten. Guess what? No batten - only a whole heap of silicone (gonna be fun getting the bath out if required methinks) XRD

    Worst Tiling Ever??

Turns out that the quadrant beading is required to cover a gap at the tap and foot ends of the bath which gets wider as you move from one side of the bath to the other (walls aren't square to each other). The diagram below explains. XRD

    Worst Tiling Ever??

Certainly worth thinking about that's for sure. Given that the walls are now tiled to a good standard, we just need a company to come in and fit the bath, basin & wc properly, including the worktop, bath panel, plinth and shower screen and then silicone around the bath and basin. XRD

    Worst Tiling Ever??

err... Apparently this was not his first job. Lord alone knows what his first job was like if the does this after he's had some experience! BiR - Thanks! XRD

    Worst Tiling Ever??

UPDATE ... Well nothing has been done on the job since last Monday (6th). The bath is plumbed in but pipework is leaking somewhere (this done by a 'plumber'). The shower is connected up but unable to be used because of a lack of sealant around the bath and ... ... the fact that the shower...

    Worst Tiling Ever??

Hmmm.. I haven't checked that there is a batten there to support the edge. Knowing the installer and his competence - probably not! Dave

Yep - like I said in post #17 of his thread: XRD

Small DHW Tank with a Combi?

Hi, I think the problem is a long run of pipework. The house used to have a DHW cylinder upstairs (boiler is downstairs). Boiler was replaced some time ago with a combi and the DHW cylinder was removed. I think the spanner that did the job couldn't be arsed with re-piping the hot water feed...
