    All electric cooker

Ok what about (same reply to EFLImpudence) as putting a 60A junction box 1.2m high up on the shared kitchen wall inside the coat cupboard? Poking into the cupboard so fully accessible. Then I can get 1m 10mm2 extra to go from the 60A junction box to 1.2m high up on the wall where the 45A DP...

    All electric cooker

What about putting a 60a junction box about 1.2m high poking out of the other side of the partition wall to the 45A kitchen switch? So fully visible. The other partition wall is inside a coat cupboard so the junction box would be fully accessible (i.e not under floorboard). Then I can get 1m...

    All electric cooker

There is no 'maintenance free' 10mm2 junction box. Can I put the 45A DP switch inside a cupboard instead (this way the 10mm2 cable should reach without the need for a junction box)?

    All electric cooker

At the minute I use 12m of 6mm2 twin/earth cable (going through insulated joists) starting with a B32 RCBO going to a 45A DP switch which then goes to a 45A cooker outlet which is behind the existing gas hob/electric oven cooker. I'm looking to future proof for an all electric cooker (electric...

    Junction boxes

If I leave the 2.5mm2 x3 and 6mm2 x 1 where they are I would mark out on the floorboard above 'warning cable'. It's too much work to disconnect the cables and reroute as these cables go through partition walls, it would take weeks to reroute them I could add a thin 2-3mm metal plate and push...

    Junction boxes

I can't find wagos for 10mm2 cable. Also, the cables are very tight so I have to use in line wago junction boxes. Could I use this junction box for the 10mm2 cable: Could I use this junction box for the 10mm2 cable (60A)...

    Junction boxes

Don't all electric cables that are installed under floorboards in joists have to be 50mm or lower under the floorboard? To prevent someone puncturing the cable accidentally with a screw. This screwfix community forum weblink describes the same issue...

    Junction boxes

I am planning to cut and reroute 2 core and earth cables 50mm lower through precut holes in noggins. Specifically three x 2.5mm2 cable and one x (either 6mm2 or 10mm2, I can't tell which) cable. The noggins were added to better support the floor above. All three cables should fit through the...

Suitable plant/turf to hold up a small earth slope

The slope is only about 1m on the diagonal (1m wide 1m high). Could I use a 1m wide turf roll sideways along the slope?

Suitable plant/turf to hold up a small earth slope

Should I use interlocking matts (like this https://www.outdoordesign.com.au/news-info/erosion-control-on-steep-slopes/3475.htm) when using grass turf on slopes?

Suitable plant/turf to hold up a small earth slope

The slope is 1m wide, about 1m high, 45 degrees, east facing, on property boundary, with large shrubs at the top of the slope, gravel /bare soil at bottom of slope. Could I use matts (like gravel matts) pinned into the slope and then the matt has grass embedded into it?
