Thank you for your help!
I think the main culprit is an overflowing waterbutt. You can kind of see it under all the brambles in that photo. It was over flowing on left side and had been for over a few years by the look of the mould and fungus. Looks like it just kept the wood utterly soaked...
I'm so sorry for the late reply. i didn't get any notifications of a reply!
Yep, the rotton wood is on the outside and has been removed. There IS insulation but it looks like cheap roof wool insulation about 2cm thick but it's in a plastic bag?! Never seen that before I have covered it back up...
Hi.
Sorry if this is a dopy question.
I purchased a Dewalt laser (DWHT77100-XJ measure from Toolstation 5 months ago and have only used it once (to try it) and it was purchased in a sale with plans to use it when carrying out replacing a roof of the conservatory which I am now doing. I took it...
Hi. Sorry if this is a dumb question but we moved into this house last year and it has a conservatory (Thats how it was described but i'd say it's a lean to).
The past owners said the whole thing is insulated except for the small right side. The wood on this side is rotten and i'll be replacing...
Thank you for the reply.
Ah, i see what you mean. Our landing light has upstairs and downstairs switch which makes sense.
The three lights are in the bedrooms and only have one on and off switch. Does that make any difference?
I can turn the main switch off but i'd have to turn it on every...
Hi.
This may be a really silly question - I need to change a 4 pendant lights UPSTAIRS. I have changed them many times but when I do I normally turn the MAIN switch off.
For years I've been told "Just turn the one switch off, in this case the upstairs lights (circled in red) When i turn it...
Bit hard to explain.. but here goes lol
Due to the layout of the house it would be costly to get a tap out the back of the house and we don't really need it that often.
So, i am using a splitter attached to the washing machine inlet and I was attaching the hose to this everytime we needed it...
Hope it's okay to ask but I'm looking for something like this but with 3/4inch on both sides?
It's for a garden hose connector. I need something with a valve to be able to just turn it off rather than going to the tap.
I did buy a VERY over priced one from Amazon £9.99 but when it turned up...
I recently picked up a titan hammer drill with a chisel feature and it's been AMAZING! Literally broke through fencing post concrete like it was nothing.
I think you're right. i'll go with the titan. I can always upgrade later on if i find it more useful than expected. Thank you!
That's what does worry me. It looks in good condition but so much could go wrong. I had a dewalt mitire saw and it packed up after a weeks of use and that was from brand new. At least with the new one i'd have a warranty.
Hope it's okay to ask.
I am planning on buying one for a few jobs around the house. Mainly cutting wood (door frames, old cladding and using the sander for getting in the corner of furniture every now and then). I've never used one before so i may end up finding lots of other little uses for...
That may be something we will look at in the future. Seems like the better option but to do just one side it would cost around £300 >_< Its a bit out of our pricerange at the moment sadly. I guess we could just do the smaller side with them and take off all the wood. Ty for the info!
It really has. I've noticed over the years even cheap wood has gone insane. It just seemed like an extra jump with the cladding specially for the very poor quality. What's the point of cladding if it's full of holes lol.
i'm popping to a local wood merchant today hoping it'll be cheaper! Im not...
Hi.
Sorry if this is a dumb post/rant.
We moved into a house last year and some of the cladding on the wooden leanto has started to break down due to it not being treated by past owners.
I need to replace about 5x2m lengths. I popped to B&Q (big mistake) and it's about £11 per one.. but it...
Yep. It's defiantly his first language. He has a very thick accent but it is his first language lol
Same to be honest. I used to be a laborer and trainee carpenter before I became ill and my gaffer used to advertise on there and used to make quite a bit. That was 10+Yrs back though
We moved last year. The toilet we had then was a modern one and honestly, it would often take two flushes.. However, the new toilet we have is a 'classic' high flow toilet. Honestly, one flush and the big jobbies is gone! Jurassic park!
Hi there!
I hope you don't mind me asking. We moved into a house last year and have slowly been doing it up.
We have a small cloak room with a High Level toilet (one of them with the cistern attached high on the wall and an actual chain) and we'd (Well, my wife..) Would like to keep it...
Another red flag. He's put off coming out twice now which is why we're communicating via Dm's. I've tried sending him the photo but he says it won't open.
