House rewire - use wireless lights?

Thanks, but still interested in the idea. actually been looking around at these wisqo lights http://amzn.to/2gT5cFe . Seem to have decent reviews and uk links, even their install video is from the uk. I could fill my house with them for about £250. I`d probably save £500 from not having all the...

Hi All, We have recently moved into a new house that has an outside toilet and a larder next to the kitchen. We are thinking of taking out the corner of the garage to open up the kitchen into a large rectangle and then turning the toilet 180 degrees and turning the area into a small wetroom...

    concealed cistern limescale/gunge removal?

Hey All, After 9 years of installation our concealed toilet cistern decided to continually run water down the pan. Teak furniture paint stripping

Hey all We have some teak furniture which has been painted (by our tenants grrrr) and I'd like to restore it back to its original wood appearance. Kitchen expansion in garage

Thanks. Well the idea was to put in an kitchen island so making the kitchen more rectangular would help that. Taking out the toilet and cupboard would just create a longer galley kitchen which we were trying to move away from. Was sort of hoping that doing the garage conversion would be a...

    Kitchen expansion in garage

Hey All, We`re considering extending the kitchen and was wondering if a cheaper option than going into the garden/patio would be to take part of the garage. Anyone hazard a guess of whats involved , i`m assuming as the garage wall is load baring to the floor above it would need some RSJ`s for...

    Thermostat shower sensitive temperature control

actually think i found the whole thermostat shower valve on ebay for £27. it has the same decals on it but slightly updated appearance and the attachment is on the bottom not the top. Maybe i`ll ask them if they sell the cartridge separate. or like you say just get a whole new mixer.

    Thermostat shower sensitive temperature control

No , nothing written on it. Think its probably just some cheap chinese import. I noticed there is a kind of grub screw underneath the thermostat side. So i`m guessing its just undo that and a philips screw on the end behind the cover to remove the cartridge.

    Thermostat shower sensitive temperature control

I`ve touched the inlet pipes when its been running and they are around the correct way. Main question is if it is the cartridge, can I just take it out and take it down the plumbers merchant or is it more complicated than that, ie finding the make and model of the shower thermostat first?
