100mm insulation boards in the floor screed

100mm insulation boards in the floor screed

Do both types have the foil wrap on both sides or just one of them? How does one look visually different to the other, or do they look the same?

100mm insulation boards in the floor screed

Is there much difference between the various manufacturers of 100mm rigid insulation boards? Kingspan seem to be at the higher cost around £55 for a 2.4m x 1.2m board, where as some cheaper ones come out at sub £42 inc vat. Am I missing something?

    Foundations for a future conservatory

We're just laying a wide patio circa. 15m x 6m and I plan to install some 100mm insulation boards over an area of approx. 4x5m in case I build a conservatory in the future. What size foundation should I allow assuming good soil (we built an extension a few years ago which confirms this). Would...

Recommendations for an external double socket

Sorry I meant shouldn't the switch(not a double pole socket) have a fuse (I guess your reply comment is going to be that no light switch has a fuse) but given that these are sockets, any reason they don't have a fuse? I like the sound of the third option about a sub consumer unit. Would this...

Recommendations for an external double socket

    1. Doesn't the internal double pole socket not require a fuse like in fused spur? 2. If I plan to run a 5 external sockets (I have a wide and deep property) do you recommend one double pole isolater say in the utility for each socket or one for the whole thing? That will also be a lot of...

Recommendations for an external double socket

    1. What do you mean by active rcd? 2. I'm having my house rewired as part of a renovation. I presume the different areas/ring mains of the house will be on an RCD. Are you implying that if there is ever a power cut and I'm on holiday, my chest freezer and normal fridge/freezer will not return...

Recommendations for an external double socket

Ok, noted thanks. And in one of follow on questions above, I was asking about an IP66 rated switch. Do people ever use switches inside or outside to switch off power going to an external double socket? And would the socket in theory still be safe if water poured on it from a parapet wall...

Recommendations for an external double socket

From a technical point, why wouldn't the RCD socket trip first? Also it's more convenient to trip the socket rather than the whole ring main circuit at the consumer unit and have to walk into the house if it trips because e.g. you were mowing the lawn (as it happens sometimes when the motor...

Recommendations for an external double socket

By the way, is there ANY upside of having an RCD on the socket if the main consumer unit has a RCD protection on there. Does it for example, trip the socket RCD without tripping the consumer unit and other circuits in the house that way>

Recommendations for an external double socket

How do you run your cables? Do you have an external switched power socket like this one https://smile.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08JMBDK9R/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 or do you just run it of the back of an existing internal socket ring main and poke through the wall? Also, I...

    Small dual voltage shaver socket?

Is it permissible to place a shaver socket within 600mm of a shower area, if there is fixed glass shower screen separating the shower area from the shaver socket?

    What is this for?

So that is some sort of damp proofing membrane? What if I can use it because I have rough walls etc which the tiling was due to hide? Thanks for finding that video.

    Small dual voltage shaver socket?

If I want to install a dual voltage shaver socket, do they only come in the one large double socket back box style size? I've only so far been able to find a smaller shaver socket on amazon if I opt for the UK standard 240 voltage.
