Running a cable under a driveway

Have you already got the chargers with a cable?

How to approach laying a path here

How large an area? The area shown could be home mixed. But if it goes back 50 feet then it needs a different approach. I tend to agree with slabs.

    Where can I buy melamine/laminate sheet ?

Waterproof or splash proof? Would a solid plastic not be suitable? We used to buy faced ply and buffalo board. Buffalo is used in truck and trailer bases. You still need to worry about edges.

    Rotating large man hole cover

I am no builder, but that looks like a deep shaft with a top layer that’s been added to the original chamber? I would GUESS that the top brickworks could be altered to reorientate the top cover. You might need permission to do this . I know that my shallow drain has been changed at some point...

People need to be prosecuted for this.

Yes, it’s the “Government’s” problem in that they (the government as an institution, not the administration) because, as Governments do, they react to problems, hardly ever to preempt them. The existing system fault has existed for over 50 years. To suggest that the driving test backlog...

Running a cable under a driveway

You do realise that it doesn’t need to be plugged in all the time?

People need to be prosecuted for this.

It does seem bizarre that this has been allowed to happen. However, the OP seems to have gone off one one? Complaining that a legal loophole is being blocked by the government ? Suggesting that if an opposition party gets in then they will block what the government have already announced as a...

Fill gaps around pipes in the floor

Foam normally sets in contact with water, so using a plant sprayer with the foam helps control the expansion. I’d be tempted to get a kitchen wall cupboard and fit it over all those pipes. Make it without the back, and relieve the base for the pipe work. If you can get the same as your kitchen...

    Brighton Bodies

Could be late night clubbers going for a paddle (possibly not entirely sober?) and one gets into trouble? Others try to help? Pure speculation however.

Why is there a batten behind my cistern?

My cistern is packed off the wall to allow space for wall tiles.

    Brighton Bodies

I used to spend a week in Brighton once a year for work and stayed in a B&B. The landlady was in a club that started their day with a (very) early morning swim. She always extended an invite to join for a swim that for some reason we never took up. It sounds like the sort of thing that could...

Help Identifying/Sourcing Snap-fix Glazing Bar Caps for Conservatory Roof

I would make a detailed drawing of the design, with as many measurements as you can. I built a conservatory early 90’s with plastic capping and later had to buy a new system as the plastic capping suffered UV damage. I replaced with an all aluminium one.

    England council results

I did a quick google search and Boris and Truss had worse scores. But as said, local elections don’t relate to general election results. It’s amazing how many voters don’t seem to understand the differences. In a way, local election wins for Reform could be seen as a way for the electorate to...

    Square O rings?

How much are the correct washers each? Buy ten and sell the rest to cover P&P. Presumably you have searched for “square profile O rings” and the like. But as said, until they closed down, I used to travel across town to buy from a local rubber specialist (oh er!) and risk a parking fine or buy...

Locking a gate from both sides

You could simply fix a chain/ cable to the gate inside on the right, going to a pulley with a counterweight ? To pretty it up, put the counterweight in a tube. Some smaller garden gates fit springs to close them. The fire door between my laundry room and garage uses a spring loaded lever...

    Soundproofing?

They do work, we used them on all our doors at a place I worked in.

    Soundproofing?

If the garage has room, using rockwool and plasterboard would help make it more soundproof. You could just do the hall wall and do area. As said, a fire door well fitted with no holes helps. You could get magnetic seals routed into the door and frame.

    Suggestions for anchoring metal pergola

If you mean that you hoped to cement the brick to the concrete, you’ll be lucky. Even using a strong epoxy type adhesive in place of mortar to hold the brick paver won’t survive wind on a structure. Especially if there’s a roof or plating. The link above shows rally long concrete screws that...
