Hi,
This bit down the side of my garage is just begging for a path to be laid.
What's the best way to approach this DIY.
My concern is how to adjoin the pad foundation without compromising the single skin (double leaf) wall (which doesn't have a DPC at the bottom only at the top).
Path to be either concrete or paving slabs. No ACO needed along the wall, it'll just fall away from the building. Length is only 4M so at circa 1M width shouldn't need planning.
I wasn't intending to leave a backsplash gap for pebbles because a) the lad foundation is in the way and b) the wall has a DPC at the top which the timber sits on. The front of the building is open to air )cart lodge style although I'd love to put a garage door on it one day.
Which is these is best:
Lay concrete path to same height as pad foundation, with a jagged edge, sloped away from wall.
Lay on top of pad foundation? (Do I need to decouple with foam or similar?)
Something else?
Cheers v much.
