So it keeps filling up? This causes water to overflow over the syphon and run down the toilet pan.
If you adjust float will it stop?
If it keeps running change the washer if you can locate the correct replacement
The problem is finding someone decent to do a good job.
If you have a few around you willing to take work on you can pick the cheapest.
If the tradesmen is good and busy they can charge what they want
Just be aware that velux are noisy when it rains and the glass heats up red hot in summer.
I put an outside blind on ours to reduce rain noise which are 1200 x 1200 x 3 in the bedroom.
I also put tint on the inside to stop the heat.
It's helped a bit but not enough.
I wish I put smaller velux...
Yeah. Be fine.
Just add some wood glue to the noggin ends and it will be solid no matter how you screw straight or on an angle.
I'm always belting and braces but that's just me
Red is blocks of wood x 8.
Wood glue and screw through to side studs.
Then to secure nogging one screw going down the through lower block of wood only.
You will want noggins top and bottom so all sides of plasterboard are secure
Any reason why you don't want to drill? It's easy and I've done loads.
Only other way is CT1 some wood to lintel I guess. I've never done that though.
Problem is the curtain weight plus the pulling that happens at that point.
Metal lintel?
Will drill easy with a DeWalt metal drill and a long self tapping screw.
Drill on a low speed
I often tickle the trigger on and off as going fast will burn drill out and not drill hole.
Takes about 30 seconds to drill a hole
Zinsser all coat would do you then.
Depending on the wood with knots you can decide if it's worth using an undercoat but it definitely helps and makes a better finish.
You want to paint the wood?
You could use Sadolin superdec satin without a primer.
You can use zinsser all coat without a primer.
I think using a primer is a better option though as can block knots and help the paint last.
So many options now with the different paints
Either.
You can use a clear primer preserver If you want..
100s of years there was no pressure treated wood and it was fine.
Coverstain is a good primer but don't let it's get wet is the the advice.
Needs 4 days to cure this weather then
Zinsser all coat is good a good top coat.
That's one...
It's these stupid YouTubers demoing ready mixed and saying how easy it is to use.
I remember using ready-mix on a small hall with it slipping and sliding and pulling with drag masks.
Stuff that! I jumped in van and bought a bag of plaster and it was all done in hour.
I've also used a box of...
Sounds like you need help to sort it out.
Support will hopefully get in touch and fix.
These things happen to all of us, it's definitely happened to me
I'd use one or two boxes of toupret powder filler for many reasons.
Quicker drying.
Easier to sand.
If you are stuck on ready-mix they are all similar. Just pick one but I'm never keen on them
I log in app on phone fine and there is an option to change email address.
They then send a verification code to apply the change. I haven't tried but looks ok.
You can't have 2 accounts.
You have to login the original NHS account
I don't know.
I do know that the knowledge to do it is priceless.
if the spindle surround has broken I will guess you could use a wire to fish the latch catch maybe..
I don't know specifically.
I've seen the glass removed then holes drilled inside frame to get at the mechanism in windows to trigger and open it.
Some how you need to trigger the multi point locking..
Maybe get a firm in to sort. You will need a new casement lock which is another problem when...
