    Glowworm £350 difference!

Thanks for responses. Just sharing what Glow-worm v helpfully provided: The main differences would be the Energy has a rear entry flue option where the Easicom does not, the Energy has a pump speed setting that can be changed where the Easicom is set to modulating only and finally the warranty...

    Glowworm £350 difference!

Hi I’m looking to buy a system boiler and came across two 25kw Glow-worm options on PlumbNation: Easicom 3 and Energy7. The difference is price is more than £350 and wondered if anyone knew why this might be?!

Is that not the point of solar panels?

    Running two thermostatic showers

Hi Mains pressure is 2.4bar. With two taps running full (on first & second floor) it drops to 1.2, and then with third tap opened on ground floor it drops to 0.5bar. Having partly dismantled a stud wall, i now have space under the stairs for a water tank, so now thinking unvented indirect...

    Running two thermostatic showers

Ok ran water test at location of two possible boilers. On first floor, filled 20l/min, while at same time filled 10.5l/min on second floor. I’m thinking this is enough mains pressure to run two combis to produce 10-12l/min at c38-40 degrees? I’ve now exposed gas pipe and it would be 5m from...

    Running two thermostatic showers

Interesting. There's not much difference in cost between two Worcester Bosch 1000 30kw combis and a system boiler plus mid-range unvented 250l cylinder. Two things that i need to properly check/seek advice on: mains pressure and pipe sizing from gas meter to boilers (and gas hob). If i were...

    Running two thermostatic showers

I suspect this is the way to go. I don't know much about these products. Looking at the Megaflow (only brand i've heard of), their slimline version could be accommodated in one of the bathrooms.

    Running two thermostatic showers

Hi I'm developing an HMO rental property which will have 4 tenanted rooms, two bathrooms and a shared dining kitchen over three floors. I'm keen to provide good quality showers in each bathroom and in all likelihood both would operate at the same time (eg mornings). I have limited storage...

    Pneumatic flush concealed WC

On closer inspection I found air pipe actually slots into a cm long sleeve, which is also soft plastic. As this connection is above normal water line I’m going to try superglue and the plastic ratchet clamps (9-10mm size) suggested above. The aquarium shop also a good shout!

    Pneumatic flush concealed WC

Hi I have an issue with a concealed WC, the air tube from the push button to diaphragm(?) pops off on the latter side. If you hold it in place, flush works fine. Normally I’d think some sort of jubilee clip could work but diameter of tube too small. It’s also difficult to get a close look at...

Hi, taken apart now, expecting to see a washer or o-ring I could replace, but nothing obvious?

    Concealed bath tap dripping

Hi Can anyone tell me how I can take apart the spout and mixer tap, both are leaking? I’ve managed to remove handle, but that’s it. See pics. Cheers

    Ac or dc electric strike?

Supply to camera doorbell is 24v, but this is reduced to 12-15v which the manufacturer confirmed and multimeter shows once existing strike was removed. See pics. All wiring from video monitor to doorbell to strike is 1mm2 two core flex. Phew, got there in the end.

    Ac or dc electric strike?

That makes sense in the normal world. But in my world, the facts are: - the children forget their keys, so either they use the garage key hidden under a stone and then use the spare set stored there or more often, someone will leave keys under the plant pot by the front door. - children...

    Ac or dc electric strike?

I was hoping to do away with the mortise lock, and rely solely on a robust nightlatch. Mainly because it would mean not having to carry keys which my children frequently forget. Some rim releases state they can withhold a force of 750kg. Although I imagine a timber door and frame would give...

    Ac or dc electric strike?

Yes, measuring when door release is activated. The old release still works. It worked well with the old Yale lock on the door, and had done for last 4 mths. It just doesn’t work with the new high security ERA lock because the throw is too long. I’m not convinced 24v is present when the door...

    Ac or dc electric strike?

See attached. I’ve emailed manufacturer to ask if the output voltage is also 24v.

    Ac or dc electric strike?

I’ve double checked readings at camera doorbell. Supply comes from video monitor and is almost 24v (see pic). However, when activated, the output from here is 2.4v (see pic). The strike - 3m cable run - also receives 2.4v, no drop.
