    Silent Extractor Fan Pipe

Perhaps you can decode this for me from the lease: "The property [my flat] described in the first schedule hereto includes for the purposes of obligation as well as grant the ceilings floors and joists and beams on which the floors are laid, but not the joists and beams to which the ceilings...

    Silent Extractor Fan Pipe

Can I ask, is the dividing line between the properties going to be ... the ceiling, in other words the underfloor void is part of the upper property? Cheers

    Silent Extractor Fan Pipe

Thanks .. their bathroom is on the rear of a the bedroom so if they do not use the void space which I suppose is technically in my flat, then the extractor duct would have to go along their ceiling wouldn't it or down to the floor and out the front wall cut into the wall?? Is that what is...

    Silent Extractor Fan Pipe

Hi, thanks for that. It's a Victorian house with a ground floor flat and I own the maisonette above. They have a ground floor bath/loo and the extractor simply vents into the void. How is the venting normally done in this situation? Would they normally have a pipe running on their ceiling ...

    Silent Extractor Fan Pipe

Hi, just discovered that my neighbour 's (below) bathroom extractor fan is venting directly into the space between his ceiling and my floor, on the edge of the room under the carpets in the corner is dampness. So I need to run a pipe right through my living room and I don't want it to vibrate...

Fridge Door Fixing Cracked Off ... help? Drill through?

I got some polyester resin and 1.6mm garden wire. Gouged out a hole top and bottom (making a cavity larger on the inside). Used the wire to make a C shape and folded over the tips of the C a bit to make a 3D shape. Squirted in the resin, the wedged the wire in, then resin the plastic bits...

Fridge Door Fixing Cracked Off ... help? Drill through?

@foxhole thanks that's great, i think on my AEG the plastic bit is too narrow, thin, and hollow to wire back but I will bolt the tray through and get a glue gun

Fridge Door Fixing Cracked Off ... help? Drill through?

Hi ... the bottle tray came off with the door fixing yesterday. It's quite old so no new doors available. What can be done to fix it? Glueing the fixing back won't work. Can I drill through the door and bolt the rack on? Is there something in the door like liquid or gas ? It's integrated so...

Genuine spare parts vs Chinese parts for AEG Oven Cooling Fan

I wanted to document this; I have an AEG Competence oven, the cooling fan stopped working so I bought one on ebay. It is hard to decided which parts on ebay are "Genuine" as many are described as "genuine" or "genuine replacement" or "compatible part" ... so I thought okay I'll buy the cheapest...

Wipe Clean Flooring ... Silent Non Echoey For Hallways

Thanks I assume that means it is vinyl boards or tiles that you can sort of squeeze a bit ? Do you think it makes any difference if some acoustic underlay is added or won't that make a diff?

Wipe Clean Flooring ... Silent Non Echoey For Hallways

Looking to replace a carpet in a hallway, with flooring that can be wiped clean, but the carpet muffles any echoey sounds from people coming and going, and tiled floors for instance have that echoey effect. What is the best solution ?

    Storage Combi Boilers

I thanked you for the calculations but as I stated a quick play around with the settings clearly indicated there was nothing more available from the boiler. In this thread I have detailed the problem with using other measures to predict your shower performance with a new boiler, and offered...

This is information for people who are in the same situation. It's not for you, stop following me around.

    Storage Combi Boilers

I ended up getting a Combi and the showers are far less powerful than the old Storage Combi, so it's all been a bit crap. The DHW 35C rise values given in the technical specification are utterly meaningless and have zero bearing on what you will experience at the taps. The only useful figure is...

Capping Off a Shower Head ... Nicely !

I solved it by just getting a typical chrome flange off ebay with a hole in it and with pliers slightly widening the hole so it fits off the end cap and bit of silicone ... so you can see the end cap in the centre but it looks pretty good and all the tiles around the cap are covered.

Recessed Shelves in Showers : Waterproofing The Joins?

I ended up having to raise the shelf height by 1/2" so got some timber cut at the yard and I used Gorilla waterproofing tape on the old shelf and also on the joints on the new timber ... I also had some some 3mm birch ply so used that to make a solid incline so the water flows off nicely. Looks...

Fibre Glass Roof : Rain Noise for Neighbours Above

The rain noise is very slight and not noticeable, no canoe hollow sounds. Also GRP Roof sounds like a high tech thing it is actually a very brainless kind of roof perfect for roofers with zero skill, which involves 1" chipboard (if you're cheap) or plywood and then you roll on a coat of resin...

    Removable Louvre Vent ?

Does anyone know of a type of louvre air vent that you can unclip and pull out the vent and put it back? In our bathroom there is one and one on the exterior wall, I would like to take the inner one out and clean the outer one and then put it back easily ... without having to go outside as I'm...

Extractor Fans - Quiet Silent Noise

Recently had the following experience I thought I would share ... it had always seemed to me that for our bathroom extractor ... the plasteboard was resonating with the motor and causing more noise than necessary. It was a standard Manrose unit. Anyway, I gut a gasket of white high density foam...
