Is it worth using a double pole Fused isolator and taking it down to 3a or manufacture spec when off lighting circuit?

Outside lights on a rewire? Lighting it ring??

Hi all. I have x2 backyard outside lights to go up and deciding whether to put them on downstairs ring Ona switched double pole fuses spur (incase water gets in etc) Or do I feed them from downstairs lights and use standard light switch or similar? Cheers

    Filling loop passing slightly?

But the NRV has a built in isolator that is knackered so it has to come off anyway. Looks likes it's already on the feed side but needs replacing. I presume it will have an arrow on it? Not sure which way it should fave but I know it's there to stop CH water back feeding into the into the...

Connecting 10mm copper to 10mm speedfit?

I think it depends on the quality of the 10mm pipe tbh. If it's dented/marked then surely a compression would be better? That's just my thinking. It is easily accessible. I'm just converting two 10mm rad connections that are constantly getting hit when hoovering and cleaning. It's endless...

    Filling loop passing slightly?

Think I'd just rather replace it tbh mate. I know they are not supposed to be in place permanently. Looks a simple job just need something to catch the water.

Connecting 10mm copper to 10mm speedfit?

Hi all Sure I read in here that people prefer to use a compression joint with appropriate inserts rather than a standard JG plastic coupler. Am I correct here? Thanks.

    Filling loop passing slightly?

Never had x2 ball valves fail. Then again they are not the best when not used.

    Filling loop passing slightly?

Hi all My filling loop is passing slightly and only one isoline slightly (one that used to have plastic thumb turn on on/left one) Can anyone confirm is this the correct one I require. Looks like standard 15mm with one way valve. Is this just what I require? Thanks

    Cutting 20mm porcelain 600x900?

Hi all Laying 12m2 20mm porcelain. 150x900 edges are in and even with a 115mm thin 1.4mm blade I had tiny chips. I made them better with a 40 grade flap disc. I used an RDX super thin disc. - https://amzn.eu/d/0g9XxvDa I'm now onto the 600x900 and thinking what's the best process. People...

    What foam gun?

Awesome. After years of using canned stuff with screw on plastic tubes this ses The way forward. Just got googled now what the end twist/adjustable cap is for? Allow a certain amount of air in I presume? Leave it open or closed after use? There again if it's not been mentioned it. Ants do...

    What foam gun?

I'll be using it regularly For new door frames tbh. Plus any other holes I can find. But again the end of the nozzle where it exits is exposed and will expand/harden? That was my point sorry. I premed it had to be flushed out after each use. Or I was going to cap off/tape the end so it's...

    What foam gun?

For years I've used cans but there is no control. I was even purchasing in bulk and most would go off. I had the cheapest Screwfix one plus the cartridge cleaner (probably some wd40 generic stuff). What I don't u understand is that you keep the foam cartridge attached. So you treat it...

    What foam gun?

Hi all Looking to get a decent foam gun that will last as I have door frames and other areas to fill. I've viewed Screwfix/Toolstation and its mixed messages tbh. Some plastic parts etc. Anyone who regularly uses one recommend one? Plus do i require the cleaning agent to keep it running...

Advice -Levelling upstairs floor after settled subsidence?

No way can I take up the existing joists. I've removed all floorboards. It now runs 6m by as above taking in a bathroom and landing. Easiest option is to cross existing joists instead of laying:cutting a a peice of timber on top of each existing one.. I just want it to be quiet and solid.

Advice -Levelling upstairs floor after settled subsidence?

Hi all Renovating one of my properties I purchased 15 years with subsidence at the rear extension (28 years old). Property is over 120 years old. When I first purchased it I made do by literally screwing 2x1 roofing battens at the back extension on top of the existing floorboards/cut...

Constant trickle fans -Fan isolators or fused spur?

I think a simple 'hidden' fused isolator will suffice. Cant see them pulling a fuse tbh. Thanks
