Applying for planning again after you already got permission!

So do you think id have a chance of getting this amended to a flat roof as opposed to a whole new application?

Applying for planning again after you already got permission!

I would hopefully build the same size extension. The bit thats different would be the roof at the back that would be flat but not be visible from the road as the front half of roof would be blocking the view. Thats why I was wondering if planning would take issue.

I didn't know that but I only do this sort of thing on my own house. What about Building control?

And they could sign that off? Thats interesting. Thanks. Mind you i'm not sure flat roof at the back is that much cheaper than a hipped or gable one? Edit Oh I just realised you dont mean it will be signed off.

Thanks for your reply. In that case do you know if a change from a 2 storey side extension with a double gable roof (giving an M shape from the side) that was changed to just the front half with a gable and a flat roof behind that cant really be seen from the road would have a chance?

Applying for planning again after you already got permission!

Just wonder if anyone knows how someone who has planning permission for an extension then has to build it smaller possibly even loose the first floor goes about it. Is it a case of starting again with the planning? or is there some kind of amendment you can apply for? Also any ideas if the...

    Installing steel beams advice

You might be right. I have done a few beams before though. And I'd like to think I can use a torque wrench.

    Installing steel beams advice

In that case I think pushing the steel up with acros first and laying the padstone next then if necessary pushing a slate into the bed under the padstone would work well. I've had 2 quotes from steel suppliers now. One mentions primer but not the bolts One is including bolts but no mention of...

    Installing steel beams advice

Just wondered if anyone might have some experience putting steels in. Here are a few things I'm not sure about Is there a good/correct size of gap to leave between the top of the pad stone and the bottom of the beam to allow for the steel to be fitted in but also not so big that any tile or...

How particular are planners re distances from boundary?

So me and the neighbour arent going to be sure where it actually is if the little I know about it is correct. I remember with my last place the solicitor doing the conveyance said that to be sure you have to hire a surveyor to do a proper search and measure? I viewed down the fence yesterday and...

How particular are planners re distances from boundary?

Yes they've repositioned it slightly. Maybe by accident, don't think they're that keen on the extension though

How particular are planners re distances from boundary?

I'm not sure what rule he meant. Maybe the one you mentioned about fire was it. But I got the impression he thought planning permission would be less likely without a metre gap. I've had a measure up. I think there's one post that's a problem the rest are ok. I'd like to use them as my guide.

How particular are planners re distances from boundary?

Hello, This is a side extension im talking about. The Architect said building it 1m from the side fence was the closest you can build. On the plan hes drawn it so the window cills are 1m, so I presume thats where its measured from? Since planning was granted next door have replaced part of the...

    Price of welding

Was wondering if anyone has an idea how much welding costs these days. Ive been quoted about £400 to have a 10mm steel plate welded approx 3.5 metres in length. seems a lot or am I wrong? Cheers
