Replacing entire ground floor suspended timber floor

She might add celotex type stuff and I would fix that tight to the underside of the floor with some slate lat. Is that how you would do it? There are a few on the outside that were all blocked up with silicone. The house flooded about 15 years ago, during a massive downpour and all the road...

Replacing entire ground floor suspended timber floor

Long time no see :) My daughters house had a springy floor so we suspected the joists to be rotten. They are very rotten so we have ripped them out and are left with this: The old timber was 4.75x2.75” and balanced on broken brick pieces, no DPC at all. I plan to put back in 6x2 on a...

Filling gaps where old wall meets new ceiling?

The gaps are about an inch deep and there is wood at the back. Should I screw plaster board to the wood then some rough plaster to bring it level with the old stuff before it gets skimmed?

Neighbour attached washing line to My fence panel

I would hire a structural engineer to report on the washing line attachment to the fence panel. It’s in the corner so his calculations may show that it won’t damage the panel.

    Building near pressurised sewer

Are you sure it is pressurised? I’m not too well up on the maps but isn’t ‘VC’ salt glazed clay? Purple drains private and yellow shared/ST owned. And would a pressurised sewer have manholes? Edit: Forget that, I didn’t read all the posts, just saw the picture.
