Ah, I see what you mean. So I should place a block either side of the valve and clip there to give support, and perhaps at the other end of the pipe too? It's the cold water pipe that's the copper. The hot comes through plastic - does that need clipping too?

The inlet is only open a half turn, the outlet anything above a half turn, or visa-versa. Infinately quieter, yes I thought it was the bypass rad as it is the only one without a TRV, but you are right, neither valve are fully closed.

I tried this last night. The quitest I could get it was with one wheel (maybe lockshield wasn't the right word, they are the valves that you can turn by hand) only a half turn open. It didn't matter which, and it didn't matter how far the other was open. So: 1) Is it ok to only have...

Thanks Softus. The installer left the manual for us, and I was quite impressed to see the various forms of help that Mira offer eg technical helpline. I hope nothing will go wrong for a long time, but it's always nice to have reassurance.
