How to get a fixing in a tight spot?

Thanks for the replies. Yes, the vertical pipe. The wall is concrete block and plaster. I had fixed the pipe at 300mm intervals up to the ceiling. At the moment the space between fixings is 900mm, as you said I could get one where you put the arrow at a bit of an angle which would bring it...

How to get a fixing in a tight spot?

There is only 120mm between the airing cupboard wall and the cylinder. I would like to add 1 or 2 more fixings but cannot get a drill in there or swing a hammer. Is there any way to do that please?

I have a leak from the hot water pipes under the floor.

Thanks for the helpful tips. I have connected the pipes to the Kitchen hot tap and was surprised that I have decent pressure, it feels the same as when the pipe feeding it was underground, so no pump needed. There is only 120mm between the airing cupboard wall and the cylinder. I would like to...

I have a leak from the hot water pipes under the floor.

Thank-you. I do like that galv band, it will be useful to support the pipe in many places in the bathroom and kitchen where I cannot fit a clip to anything. In the loft I can wrap in around the lagged pipe and fix it to the joist. On another note, I did find some of what I think are Mouse...

I have a leak from the hot water pipes under the floor.

Thank-you. I did not explain myself very well. I meant as the pipe will be fixed to the joists by nail in pipe clips the pipe will be touching the joists, not allowing the lagging to go right the way around the pipe.

I have a leak from the hot water pipes under the floor.

Thank-you. When lagging, I was going to use the foam type. Is that the best type to use? Do they need to be cut down lengthwise to go around the pipe until it hits the joist?

I have a leak from the hot water pipes under the floor.

Thank-you. I will ask in the shop if I can compare the normal with the layflat. If the pipe is going below the loft insulation I will drill holes in the joists to pass the pipe through and then clip it along a joist. I was also going to lag the pipe, is that correct?

I have a leak from the hot water pipes under the floor.

Thank-you. I bought 22mm speedfit layflat for the bath hot water as I had read that it is more flexible than the normal PEX pipe but I found it very difficult to work with and ended up using ordinary speedfit pipe, pressure is good and no leaks. For going up into the loft and into the kitchen...

I have a leak from the hot water pipes under the floor.

I did not hear back from either of the 2 Plumbers that came round and promised me a quote 3 weeks ago, I did text them, 1 replied but still no quote so I did as denso13 suggested and cut the pipe and put a ball valve on the end. The water in the loft tank did not drop overnight. I rerouted the...

I have a leak from the hot water pipes under the floor.

I live in a bungalow with concrete floors and no central heating, I have economy 7. At the end of December Anglian water notified me that I may have a leak, using 2 to 3 litres per hours 24 hours a day. They came out and I turned the stop tap off and no water was going through the meter. After...

    Garage floor wet

Thanks for the replies. My first thought was condensation, there is no ventilation in the garage as far as I can see. But the roof felt is dry, I went up step ladders and felt it. Nothing seems to be dripping from above and the bucket does not collect water. The floor was wet for 2 days and...

It turned less cold 2 days ago and felt milder and the floor is wet in places again. I have a pitched tile roof and have had a look from inside and the felt is...

Funny thing is, the original part in my washer/dryer has a sticker with "Made in PRC". I wonder if that is the peoples republic of China?

Thank-you all for the replies. Fred, the coarse filter is in tact and not broken, please see picture. Wayners, there are no flashing lights of error codes. I did a wash yesterday and it worked as it should. I then turned the blue water isolator tap off. John, I had to go out this morning and...

Washing machine drum full of water

Hello all, I last used the Indesit washer/dryer 3 days ago. This afternoon I was going to fill the drum with laundry but it was full of water. I used a sponge and bucket to empty it and thought I would have a look at the pump pre-chamber to see if anything was stuck in there. It was clean and...
