    New Extension Straight Wall Query

So the question is how much (as a percentage of the total cost) is the final payment? Obviously don’t pay it until you’ve had sone kind of resolution

What have you been doing today?

It's 2k Clear Coat, which is supposed to add superior gloss and scratch protection. You have to activate the spray can by fiddling with the base of the can - I guess it releases a hardener inside - then you shake for a couple of mins and then get spraying.

What have you been doing today?

Thanks. I guess time will tell on how it holds up. It has a 2k lacquer over it, which hopefully will help!

What have you been doing today?

Yeah mostly sorted. Rattle can spray job on the wing so don’t look too closely. New wing, new alloy, 2 new tyres and new control arm. Also did new pads and discs, as I knew as I knew I was tracking it, rather than any immediate need. The radar sensor for the cruise control also needs...

    False ceiling advice needed !

The more you can add the better supported the ceiling would be. I imagine a couple of rows of battens - so at 1.5m and 3m on the 4.5m length - will be enough providing they are securely fixed, and the ones around the perimeter are fixed securely too.

    False ceiling advice needed !

With those spans 3x2 isn't going to cut it without some central supports. A concrete ceiling shouldn't be too hard to drill with a suitable SDS drill and masonry drill bit. Look up concrete screws -fixing a couple of timbers at suitable spacing to the concrete and then dropping supports to...

    Surgical wiring SWA through screed

I’m not sure I follow what/why you’re core drilling under the door mat. Won’t that compromise your DPM? If you’ve got access either side from the outside with some clearance, and an SDS drill, can’t you just drill through with something like this? https://amzn.eu/d/29ghFgC Will take a while...

What have you been doing today?

You guys should consider fostering dogs if you’re not sure about a full time commitment at the moment. Quite often the people that foster end up keeping the animal anyway, but it is a valuable resource for the animal shelters to have people that can take an animal for a few weeks or months.

I am disappointed by the puniness of your battery there @Mottie. I always had you down as a 5ah battery kind of guy :D

Civil matter. You need to contact a solicitor. If you have legal expenses insurance cover on your home insurance it should cover this.

Slow going - my double storey extension build

Haha. Milka our cat has been keeping an eye on my throughout this build, mostly because I’m messing with her garden. I might have to buy her some overalls. Yeah, I said at the start I wanted the ability for the building to be converted to other uses if needed. In my head I can see how I’d set...

Slow going - my double storey extension build

Small update as I managed to get a day and a half of building time in over the Easter weekend. Only a day and a half as I did a trade of labour with a mate of mine - he came over and helped me with the garage for half the long weekend and I went to help him plaster his house for the other half...
