I agree with you concern for overfishing and the plundering of our seas, especially by the large trawlers, but that situation could only have been improved by a govt that had an interest in the environment.
One of the very few potential benefits of brexit was the opportunity for setting long term sustainable marine policy -which could have included "no fishing" zones to allow nature to replenish.
But that was always made harder by UK govt allowing UK fishermen to flog quotas.
Given that the fishing industry in UK is really quite small, as a nation we couldve put money into the fishing communities and fishermen to operate as conservationists.
sadly fishermen were used as poster boys for the brexit campaign.
This country seriously needs to sort out river and seas, pumping sh1t into the sea cant be good for our marine habitat
