Advice on painting new stair parts

Thanks oops. A very informative reply. There isn’t much natural light in the hallway but would rather use oil based gloss. When you say oil based gloss tends to yellow without natural light, over what period of time does this happen? Thanks

Just wondering if anyone had done it like this or whether they made the newel post shorter so it joins the handrail at a different point

    Newel post and handrail question

Yeah the bottom newel and half landing newel are 1500mm. The issue is that the handrail joins the bottom newel at a different point to that on the half landing newel. Wondering whether that will look ok before I do it?

    Newel post and handrail question

I’m currently replacing all my stair parts. I’ve replaced the newel post at the bottom of the stairs and I’m currently in the process of replacing the newel post on the half landing. I’ve measured 900mm from the pitch line to get the height of my hand rail from the bottom newel which will sit at...

    Worcester 24cdi no hot water

Problem solved! I noticed, when looking at the diverter valve diaphragm pin from underneath that the black plastic disc was missing from it therefore it couldn’t operate the switch. After a quick look around I found it wedged between the floor boards under the boiler. Reattached it and now hot...

    Worcester 24cdi no hot water

Maybe just another thing to consider regarding the micro switch. When i removed the two wires connected to it I noticed they were both the same colour (pink) so I assume that it doesn’t matter which way round they go when reattached?

    Worcester 24cdi no hot water

Thanks for that video old&cold. Is it important that the switch stays together because when I took mine off the casing came apart which looked natural to me and not that it had split. So when I put the switch back on I just put the plastic casing of the switch back together

    Worcester 24cdi no hot water

Not had a chance to check it as I’m in work today. So let me get this right. When there is demand for hot water, the diaphragm moves the pin which activates the switch which kicks the boiler in? And is it possible for me to view the pin without having to remove the heat exchanger? Also, what...

    Worcester 24cdi no hot water

Is the contact area the small black disc? Also if I take the micro switch off and then switch the boiler control to DHW would I be able to see the switch activate? Also does the switch operate the diaphragm or does the diaphragm operate the switch?

    Worcester 24cdi no hot water

With regards to the switch. Does that push the black cap over on the diaphragm?

    Worcester 24cdi no hot water

Ok thanks for all your help. I’ve not missed putting anything back. Also, one thing that did happen is the micro switch got a bit wet when I removed it from valve. Could this have made it short when powered up?

    Worcester 24cdi no hot water

So today I have no hot water not heating side is fine. I have a Worcester 24cdi combi. So after a bit of advice that it’s probably the diaphragm on the diverter valve I set about replacing it. 8 hrs later and wat a b***h of a job that was! Anyway no leaks so I power up and still no hot water! So...
