Combi and ongoing running bath problems

Thanks. :) With such a small price increase a 35kw seems a no brainer. (Absolutely suitable for me ). By cold feed in re the Combicare you mean after the rising main supply to the cold tap? If so I'd be puzzled where it could go with the kitchen designed as it is: same unfortunately...

Combi and ongoing running bath problems

Thanks for your advice, but can you think of a boiler that is no bigger than what I've got now,as the scale reducer will have to fit in the same cupboard? If GW Flexicom is the only option in the end, how much would going to the 35kw add to my cost to change if installer supplied and fitted...

Combi and ongoing running bath problems

The kitchen is there so I am stuck with it :( but there it is. As to hardness it does deem to vary a lot round here. My daughter's supply about a mile away is better hardness wise than mine. As to changing so many think that Protherm is naff, that my thinking is influenced rightly or wrongly to...

Combi and ongoing running bath problems

Sorry about the ignoring , but I was finding it difficult. Thanks for the explanation. Your comments about manufactures overstating surely could apply to all, as I see similar rates quoted for 30kw by most. Whatever about the boiler that was recommended my searches have shown nothing that...

Combi and ongoing running bath problems

I am now coming round to biting the bullet and having a new boiler fitted together with an Aquadial Combicare scale reducer. (we are in an exceptionally hard water area). To fit in the limited available space a Flexicom 30CX has been recommended. According to a lot of sources the 35 deg rise...

    DHW problem a question

It has been suggested that my combi problem, inability to run a hot bath other than at a very slow rate is most likely to the hardness of the local water. Recommended attempt as cure is to fit an Aquadial Combicare scale reducer and a new thermistor. From that i presume that the water affects...

Combi and ongoing running bath problems

Thanks :) If that makes a diffidence, only the combi is newish, 6 y.o.; the c/h part is quite a bit older and installed by previous owner in place of warm air.

Combi and ongoing running bath problems

Thanks for further reply.:) How do I do the check? You say 50% is not a gigantic change :?: I have never heard of those: are the cylinders mentioned earlier the same? How do they manage to fill so quickly?

Combi and ongoing running bath problems

So to be clear :) you think neither the power flush will be any good at all, nor a higher output boiler? yours is the only way round the problem?

Combi and ongoing running bath problems

As I said the house was originally warm air so there's mo where to put a cylinder and there also is no storage tank. Anybody else like to comment?

Combi and ongoing running bath problems

I moved in to my house, a 3 bed linked detached in 2002, and we had the kitchen revamped. The previous owner had two heating units in the kitchen, one for the central heating, another under the sink for instantaneous hot water by gas. (The house originally was heated by warm air). In place of...
