Is the wall long side of the bath rim similarly supported, with the custom timber frame also up under the rim?
Asking because the supplied wall brackets are slotted...vertically! FFS.
Do floor tiles go down before wall tiles go on?
Are there skirting tiles?
Is there any other type of skirting to tidy up the floor edges/btm of tiling, than standard wood/mdf?
Is it to allow fitting in an 1800 recess/alcove with 5mm tolerance at each end?
I'm putting a bath alcove together (stud/Aquapanel) and was wondering anyway, what gap to set at the ends between bath & Aquapanels (panels to drop 10mm below rim). The bath showed up 10mm shorter than expected...
Am putting a stud/Aquapanel bath alcove in (Aquapanels starting below bath rim, sat on bearers).
How far above the bath rim should I set the btm edge of the tiles?
Thank you

2100 wall with an 1800 bath, so I'm putting in a bath alcove (stud/Aquapanel) to get the bath in the ctr of the wall whilst squaring the walls up and creating a void for hiding/fitting services).
6mm notch should be ok, for 10mm total combined tile/adhesive thickness.
6.5thk 150x150 (147x147) bathroom wall tiles.
Is there a specific size notch trowel for lighter tiles, what thickness finished adhesive thickness would it give?
Just trying to get an idea what combined tile+adhesive thickness would be.
Thank you
To help prevent panels dropping later, I was thinking of glueing aquapanels to the stud (additional to screwing & edge glueing panels with proprietary glue).
Any thoughts? Panels to be supported on horiz. rail anyway, so just run some Gorilla up the stud before fixing them?
Does aquapanel go above the bath with the bath rim slid underneath it, or does it extend below the rim with the bath pushed up to it (plus sealant)?
Asking because existing bath rim is 45mm wide but new bath side rim is 90mm wide, which seems a lot.
Thank you.
I was going to grout 6mm Aquapanels to a single leaf rendered breeze wall behind a new bath, I really don't have much space (not enough for CLS) but I might just squeeze some planed in if preferred.
Thank you.
I bought a new bath & screen but without a bath panel, although the panel is listed on the manufacturers website as 550 height, this doesn't say top of bath is 550 off floor, or where this dim comes from..
Manufacturer won't give further info..
Also, there's a glass shower screen going on, so a batten top rail that loses 3mm width over the next 18 months might not be too clever.
Basic silicons have come on quite a bit over the years, what brand do you use?
And, slightly related, what thickness tile backer would you put on a new stud...
I have a stud going in at each end of a bath and was wondering what thickness Aquapanel on the stud would best? To tile over.
What does primer (BAL etc) actually do? Does it go on both sides?
And what glue would I use to fix the Aquepanel to the stud (plus screws), would Gorilla be ok?
Thank you.
Thenk you, CT1 sounds useful.
The bath will have a new stud wall at each end (to be enclosed on 3 sides), what sort of a gap should I leave at ends to take the CT1 (baths going in corners look easier, you just sealant 2 sides and push it in). I suppose it wouldn't take much to rig a reducer for...
Thank you,
Is that full length rail up under the rim supporting the rim underside continuously? Or supporting moulded in blocks like mine has?
Is that treated roofing batten?
I always wonder what size bat was originally used when ripping old stuff out; it never seems to tally even with...
The 4 supplied fixing brackets are quite minimal; fixed to the wall, with silicon bonding bath to bracket.
There are 3 strengthening blocks moulded in to the underside of the rim (plus 1 in each corner) connecting the downstanding rim to the top of the bath sides. Are they just for...
At least the new studs will be plumb!
What thickness backer is suitable for the 2 narrow studs going at each end of that wall/each end of the new bath? 1 will go on the new wall to the right of the doorway (that microbore needs to run behind it & over the door to a new towel rad).
Is the 2100...
I haven't used this panelling before, haven't done much tiing either. Shower panels look like the way forward if I can get some for above the bath.
Does anyone supply custom panels? (probably not laminate). Thick enough to be rigid. For walls above long side and each end. Approx.160cm tall...
2100 wall to take 1800 bath/shower. I'm putting studs using bathroom boards at each end to bring the 2100 down to 1800ish (just over), but the stud at the taps end will cover that whole wall to lose the pipework for new sink/toilet also.
The face of the tiles infringing on the plan/footprint of...
If I pry the old barge board away, clear out the old undercloaking/cement, then some new treated 100x47 or 50x47 could go on the outer rafter to bring the face out close to where it should always have been?
Theoritically the top of new treated would follow top of outer rafter?
Should I drill...
