Water dripping constantly through tundish in airing cupboard

For the last week or so there has been water dripping through the tundish in the airing cupboard. The water exits out a pipe to the rear of the house. Is this normal behaviour for this time of year when the weather is warm and the central heating is not on? I'd be really grateful if anyone...

Push button toilet flusher broken - how to replace?

Seem to be readily available. The replacements have a screw in fitting - I presume the white square part at the top of mine simply screws in to the main fixing? http://www.cisternfittings.co.uk/siamp-optima-cersanit-49-dual-push-button-cf1030-102-p.asp...

Push button toilet flusher broken - how to replace?

Cheers John It's a Siamp for certain - just had a closer look and I can see the Siamp wording on the side which you mentioned plus there is a grey lever on the side - see photos below. I think I would prefer to just replace the push button if possible rather than dismantle the whole thing and...

Push button toilet flusher broken - how to replace?

Cheers. For that price I'll replace the whole thing. Are there any gotchas to be aware of? The current button/mechanism is a FlushWise.

Push button toilet flusher broken - how to replace?

Hi all. The push button flushing mechanism on the top of one of our toilets has broken and I was wondering if anyone could give me any tips on how to replace it? Are these things universal fitting? Presumably its possible to just replace the button mechanism rather than the whole flushing...

Boiler comes on outside the times set on the timer

The programmer is still under warranty, so if the system plays up again I will switch the programmer for a new one and see if that makes any difference. Thanks v. much for the replies.

Boiler comes on outside the times set on the timer

On two occasions now (Monday this week AM and PM and again today) we noticed that our boiler was on when it shouldn't have been. Wondered if anyone could shed any light on what might be causing the problem? I noted down everything that I could: 1. The boiler fires up outside the times set on...

Laying turf on sand where slabs used to be - will it grow?

I've lifted some slabs up at the bottom of the garden where I'm planning on laying turf to extend the lawn. Underneath the slabs is what I would describe as darkish sand. I dug down about half a foot and it seems to be the same stuff. Will turf grow on this? I was thinking about getting a...

Queries on installing new cloakroom basin and mixer tap

Thanks TeaTime I've not purchased anything yet. I want to leave the waste pipe where it is - i.e. coming up out of the floor. Will a P-trap work with this? Once I've bought the bits I'll post more info. Thanks again.

Queries on installing new cloakroom basin and mixer tap

I'm planning on replacing the basin in our downstairs toilet within the next couple of months. It's a bit small so going to upgrade it to a slightly larger cloakroom basin. I also want to fit a single mixer tap rather than a separate hot and cold tap. Fixing the basin to the wall shouldn't...

Moved house - advice on how central heating/water works..

Hi all. We've just moved house and the central heating/hot water equipment in the airing cupboard is different to what we had before (previously we had a Gledhill Boilermate in the airing cupboard and a Glow Worm boiler in the garage. I was wondering if anyone could give me a basic...
