Ok to run swa in pipes above ground through the garden?

Thanks thats a useful link - I was looking to use them for the bits - and some good advice ;) I figure the cable length is not more than 15m so 2.5mm should be fine :) ... although maybe I'll run 4 :)

Ok to run swa in pipes above ground through the garden?

Watcha misery guts - ru my dad? :D edit: ok ban-all-badgers I'm going to edit my reply slightly as you are "the don" of sheds... I use this site sometimes as a reference not always for projects being done at the time, so I can look back to see where I got to on a project. I don't always have...

    Air in pipes...

Take it that's a no then :D But how is the air getting in? Isn't there a way to stop it? I'll do as you suggest: turn the bath on full and go and check if I can get some more flow out the float valve by wiggling it - was planning to replace it for a quieter one but may as well replace the...

Ok to run swa in pipes above ground through the garden?

Hi quick question as I start to buy materials for this one... is 2.5mm ok? What if I run a 2000W circular saw plus a couple other bits? Cheers! :D

    Air in pipes...

This is not a central heating question! :) Cold water tank in loft feeds ground floor bathroom with bath and shower. If you run the bath on full it will drain the hot and cold tank before its full and this means the pipes to the bathroom fill with air. When I go to use the bathroom sink taps...

Plumbing under sink to remove noise from plug...?

[/url] The grey one loops up out of picture to the left. I thought they only need to loop up above the pipe to the drain so the water takes the path of least resistance? Cheers

Plumbing under sink to remove noise from plug...?

The dishwasher and washing machine are plumbed in as above - the washing machine outflow is just visible at the back. When either pumps out the sink plughole makes an annoying squelching noise. How can I rearrange the pipework to stop this happening? Cheers! :D

    150mm bathroom extractor fan?

!! Do you think it might be worth trying a vent in the bathroom door first?? edit: I guess that might be worth a try before going for major surgery! :D

    150mm bathroom extractor fan?

heh b-a-s, great idea if I wanted to move the fan :) The tiles are marble would a core drill bit get through that? Maybe you can hire an SDS arbor and core bit? Save drilling 20 holes and getting jiggy with the lump hammer... Cheers! :)

    150mm bathroom extractor fan?

We've got a bathroom on the ground floor that has - I think - a standard 100mm extractor fan. To try and keep the stink down - you know how it is - I was wondering about a 150mm fan? Most seem to be for kitchens. Its not a huge bathroom (about 2.5*2.5*2.5) but I figure it would be much higher...

    Megaflo or something else

Cheers ChrisR, so its still possible the second stat could fail? Not so good afterall... So is there not much difference between vented hotwater+pump and megaflo?

Fence sits on raised ground with posts in our garden...

haha all done in less than a year - that's got to be a record, and I didn't even lift a finger :D Neighbour called (guess he decided it was his fence after all) and said he and a landscaper fancied doing it so I said fine go ahead, especially as there was no charge to me :) He sank down two...

    Megaflo or something else

I get the impression heat banks are perhaps a decent commercial proposition but not yet widely adopted in the home... No one answered my question why doesn't a megaflo have a failsafe stat? And what's wrong with a vented hot water tank?? :D

    Megaflo or something else

This may seem a stupid question but why aren't megaflows fitted with failsafe stats like I just fitted to my immersion - if its fails - so I'm told - it fails in the off position, so my 3 year old in bed beneath the cold tank can sleep sound ...

    CH Pump Performance (or failing)

Did it ever work well - before the lounge rad started to die and before you swapped the pump? Sounds like the pump didn't do anything so it is a problem with the pipework?
