    Informed by who, as far as i know the connecters would need enclosing if pushed in the ceiling, if they are below the ceiling and within that fittings base then they do not need a seperate enclosure. If the fitting is marked DOUBLE INSULATED then things would be different.

    Is there a light switch, you may find the lampholder is wired direct to the switch, therefore may be better to replacre the wire direct from switch to the new light and therefore no junction box needed

    When they done mine I drilled a hole under the soffit into the bedroom for them and housed it in a wall cabinet, next to it they put a smaller box, on that was a cat 5 output , i used that for my sky routrer and a phone output for a landline, i also needed a plug socket to power that boxes...

    Thanks, yes them figures are on the website and it seems you order the colour you require, they are not colour selectable as far i know, because we have had a quote for the 6500k. version To me it seems 5000k or 6500k but due to access there currently to hard to take one down, the main labels...

    All i have seen whether right or wrong , mainly in ceiling voids passing through firewalls out of site is that fire rated mastic type sealer like sold in screwfix round the wires and often done by professional companies with there company sticker next to it stating its sealed so they seem confident
