Junction Box Required?

So Iv changed the rose light to led. All went well. However, Iv been informed that I should put the wago connectors in a junction box before putting back in ceiling. Is that correct?

Probably have to be maintenance free too. What have the Wago’s been used for?
 
used the wago to clip in the cables so I can connect a flex cable to the led light
 
Informed by who, as far as i know the connecters would need enclosing if pushed in the ceiling, if they are below the ceiling and within that fittings base then they do not need a seperate enclosure.
If the fitting is marked DOUBLE INSULATED then things would be different.

No room within the base so pushed them in the ceiling
 
When I had work done last year the electrician used these for lights


Fits through quite a small hole.
