Apologies for the lengthy delay. I posted this on behalf of my son and have only just got the wiring photo. It turns out the switch is actually a 2-way one. What can I do to take a feed from this and control a new wall mounted light?

I have a one-gang one-way light switch that controls my hall ceiling light. Can i replace it with a 2-gang switch with the second switch operating a wall light? What would the wiring be?

I assumed (perhaps wrongly) that I could buy an insert with the same thread size as the bolt.
