    Repairing a partially broken wire?

Joints are supposed to be electrically and mechanically sound before soldering. I realise a single lamp is not the most demanding load.

Double Pole isolator switch for Bathroom Light Pull & Extractor Fan?

It allows isolation of the three fan conductors with a two-pole switch. That might not be the most important thing in the universe but that's it.

Double Pole isolator switch for Bathroom Light Pull & Extractor Fan?

So - you don't understand the diagram nor how the system works. The pull switch is not being used as an isolator, merely a functional switch, but it would still have a permanent live even if it were an isolator.

5 core induction hob cable (1.5mm?) to 10mm supplied cooker outlet

Yes. No need to alter it. Not electrically. You might not be able to connect a built in oven if the cable is too short.

Obviously - fit a deeper box.

    Light Switch Change

Be aware the markings on the old switch are in triangles; not top row and bottom row.

Getting my head around PEN protection

That is the intended purpose nowadays but other consequences are not removed by being ignored. What I mean is if the bonding does indeed form a satisfactory earth then nothing can alter that; it is just not to be relied on as the pipes might be removed. No doubt John will tell you of his own...

Double Pole isolator switch for Bathroom Light Pull & Extractor Fan?

Also "rear left" is not a helpful electrical specification.

Double Pole isolator switch for Bathroom Light Pull & Extractor Fan?

It is only for isolating the fan.

Double Pole isolator switch for Bathroom Light Pull & Extractor Fan?

My diagram shows you why a DP pull cord switch is sometimes used. There is a Permanent Live at one of the terminals.

Because in Europe they have 16A circuits so need two.

    Perhaps someone made a mistake.

Double Pole isolator switch for Bathroom Light Pull & Extractor Fan?

Obviously I do not know what has been done in your house but - One reason is that it allows the three conductors of the fan to be isolated by a double pole FCU. E.g.

Double Pole isolator switch for Bathroom Light Pull & Extractor Fan?

Oh, ok. I may have misunderstood your description. Then it is doing just that - allowing the switching of the light and fan to remain independent. Ok.

5 core induction hob cable (1.5mm?) to 10mm supplied cooker outlet

The 32A of the MCB is the relevant factor. A huge cable makes no difference.
