Intergas Eco RF 24 help needed

What is the extra (white) wire for? Also., from reading another thread on here, it looks likes it's not that easy to find 22mm two-port valves with six wires. Is HW priority really going to be of great benefit? The contractor has already run past the contract finish date and will have a fit if...

Intergas Eco RF 24 help needed

It's a Corgi five wire. See pics attached. None of the valves have been wired up yet; electrician is coming on Monday for that.

Intergas Eco RF 24 help needed

Yes, with hindsight, i should have not included it in the contract, but this project has been one painful learning experience where just about everything that could have gone wrong went wrong. Would you guys mind telling me what should be added to my splan system to make HW priority work? As...

Intergas Eco RF 24 help needed

Yes, i agree. But, unfortunately, it's part of full house renovation and i cant stop my contractor from using pipe stranglers lol.

Intergas Eco RF 24 help needed

Ah, ok, in that case i assume it won't work with the s plan plus wiring system with only two-port valves. Its the UFH people that specified the s plan system. I assume with my system i would just have to live without HW priority. Is that correct?

Intergas Eco RF 24 help needed

Hi, guys. Based on previous advice on here, i now have an Intergas Eco RF 24 and 200L Joule Cyclone UVC. They will be wired in an S-Plan plus configuration as per attached diagram. My first question is whether i also need an external programmer/timer clock for the UVC? Secondly, @Dan Robinson...

    Patio sloping towards house

Yes, really just wanted to check my idea wasn't stupid, and that there weren't any consequences i hadn't considered!

    Patio sloping towards house

Yes, the idea is to either run the water to a new soakaway, or to the surface-water drain which is easily accessible. Given that the soil in the area is quite clayey, i'm not so keen on the soakaway option. Anyway, i know the contractor will try to avoid it (to save money), and the BCO has as...

    Patio sloping towards house

Due to the patio level being one brick course below the DPC, building control has suggested an ACO drain (or similar) along the full length of the wall to minimise splash back, something like this: I should point out that the wall is a new cavity wall with a cavity tray, so splash back is not...

Brick slips below DPC level for extension?

Good point. If he insists, i think i'll ask him! Actually, just spoken to the architect who also said it's a ridiculous idea. Funny thing is, CA says he's done it several times and that its a "well practised art"!

Brick slips below DPC level for extension?

For my rear extension, architect has shown buff facing bricks to below patio level (which is exactly what i want). However, builder has laid red engineering bricks up to DPC level (and the facing bricks on top) which means the red bricks will be visible. Contract administrator has suggested...

System boiler and UVC set up

Of course, to accurately price, you need to see the job. All i am asking for is an approximate indication (range even) of time needed for a heating engineer to install a UVC. Is it typical to need two engineers, spending 24 hours, i.e. 3 FULL days, each. If that is not uncommon, then ok.

System boiler and UVC set up

To be fair to Tony, he only gave an opinion. And it's not a complicated set up. It's a typical converted three to four-bed semi in Harrow, with a new utility room to house the boiler and cylinder.

System boiler and UVC set up

No, i purchased boiler and cylinder myself and that is not included in his pricing. What i meant was that he charged me 1350£ for fitting/plumbing Vaillant 938 storage combi (including markup). That was fine. However, i then decided to have a system boiler and UVC instead of the Vaillant 938...

System boiler and UVC set up

Guys I went with your general advice to have a UVC instead of storage combi, and purchased the Intergas ECO RF 24 and Joule Cyclone cylinder myself. However, the contractor is trying to charge an extra 1.2k (including his 20% markup) JUST for fitting the cylinder (+200£ extra for plumbing...

Fitted oven with gas pipes behind

Thanks, already been on the phone to one i've used before. He said he'd take a look at the pics and let me know.

That is actually my intention, but i was hoping to know whether it's even possible first.

    Built-under SINGLE ovens?

From what i can tell from looking at Currys, JL etc., it looks like only built-under double ovens are available. So what do you buy if you need a built-under single oven? As some of you may have seen from my other post (now in the heating/plumbing section), i need a large knockout to fit the gas...

Fitted oven with gas pipes behind

Dear Gasmen It's not looking like i can get an oven with a big-enough knockout to clear the horizontal part of the pipe. Also, the shallowest i can find is 55cm which only just clears that valve tap on the LHS. How would you guys suggest rerouting the pipework to fit a standard oven/hob...
