Hi guys My Potterton Performa 24 is dripping from the pin that triggers the microswitch. Would this be the o-ring or sth else? FWIW, i changed the diaphragm a couple of yrs ago, but nothing else. Cheers in advance!

finally got hold of a replacement diaphragm, so i opened up the valve, and found that the old dia was punctured. put in the new one and problem solved - i now have HW!! Can't thank u guys enough! Cheers! PS: It was indeed a 10-min job! :wink:

Thanks everyone i wil give it a go. Namsag and Chris, pls remember that we are not all "experts" at this, which is why we use this (excellent) forum in the first place. What may take you ten minutes will take us amateurs a lot longer, so it's important to understand what's going on before...

so if it's only purpose is to operate the switch why do i not get hw when i operate the microswitch myself (by pushing it manually and thus firing up the burner) ?!

ok, so you think it's not just the diaphragm then? what does replacing the diverter entail? more tricky?

OK, i pushed the switch carefully and the boiler did fire up. However, the water remained cold. Is that to be expected?

ok, it's probably best to give that one a miss :roll: any suggestions as to where to get the diaphragm part itself? does it need to be from potterton?

excellent thanks! it's now starting to become clear and i think i can give it a go. just as a test for the HW, is it safe to trigger the switch myself? that is, i won't kill myself if i touch it will i? ;)

cheers, i've actually just found the section on the diverter valve assembly in my servicing manual. i guess that's as good as it gets ;) final question: is the dhw switch what they call the "microswitch bracket" on front of the diverter valve assembly? this is not working at all at the...

thanks guys, gasman1965 if by MI you mean the instruction manual then yes i do have it. however, looking at the general layout diagram, the diaphragm is not shown. i'm assuming it is part of the 3-way valve assembly. is that right?
