Do I need to permanently remove room sensor?

I have an Accenta system with room sensors in the top corners of many rooms. I wish to hang a corner cupboard in the same corner as a sensor. Can I locate it immediately below the sensor or do I need to permanently remove the sensor and if so how do I do that?

Accenta/Optima Intruder alarm - beeps at midnight

All Thanks for your replies. Attached are photos of the keypad and PCB. Although I said the noise disturbs me, actually it's my wife, I'm a bit hard of hearing so I haven't heard the noise but my wife and guests have. I did sit up 'til midnight one night but I couldn't hear the sound and...

Accenta/Optima Intruder alarm - beeps at midnight

The alarm was professionally fitted 13 years ago and has worked without fault until approx 12 months ago since when at precisely midnight every night the alarm beeps about 10 times. I have replaced the battery and I have replaced what I thought was a faulty keypad but neither have cured the...

    Kuppersbusch EMW 7505.0 Microwave Oven

It's a built in microwave oven so it slides into the kitchen cabinet housing. I think similar ovens are secured with screws around the front panel which can be accessed once the oven door is opened but on this unit there are no visible screws. There is a stainless steel surround which may...

    Kuppersbusch EMW 7505.0 Microwave Oven

I need to replace the motor in my EMW 7505.0 built in oven but I cannot see where the retaining screws are located. I assume they are behind the stainless steel trim? If so does anyone know how to remove the trim i.e. do I just prise it off? Any guidance appreciated.

    Waste treatment plant emptying?

We have a waste treatment plant that is working fine and hasn't been de-sludged in ten years. There is of course sludge in one chamber and cleaned water in the other which discharges as it should. Do I need to get the sludge pumped out regularly or will it gradually be digested and just...

    VADO tap cartridge

I have a 3 year old VADO Elements basin mixer tap that requires a new C-206-LTC cartridge. This doesn't seem to be a reasonable life? A universal cartridge is approx. £7.00 but a VADO cartridge is £20.00 plus postage. Both cartridges are of similar construction and profile so how can their...

    Central Heating Room Stat problem

Been away for a couple of days. System seems to have sorted itself since several on/offs of the stat. Can't explain it but who cares? Thanks for all contributions.

    Central Heating Room Stat problem

Don't think there's another m/v. Will look into it again tomorrow as I'm busy today. Thanks for all help so far.

    Central Heating Room Stat problem

Once the stat is turned up and down (off and on) the boiler works fine and the heating works. It just seems to require this off/on action to trigger the boiler I.e. the boiler doesn't seem to recognise that the stat is on when the programmer activates the circuit. It seems to need a 'burst' of...

    Central Heating Room Stat problem

The m/v is beside the cylinder in the airing cupboard and the pump is in the boiler housing. The hot water and heating are controlled separately on the Honeywell programmer. If the c/h is off and the h/w is on then the system works OK.

    Central Heating Room Stat problem

I'm pretty sure it's a full-pumped system because we have no roof space so no header tank just a cylinder on the first floor and the boiler on the ground floor. There is a cylinder stat. I don't believe the m/v is energised by the room stat but I'm not knowledgeable enough to be sure.

    Central Heating Room Stat problem

Thanks for your interest bug I believe we're getting off track. The problem is that although the stat works it's failing to start the boiler. Can anyone advise as to what component in the boiler the stat is connected or is there no component I.e. just a connection box?

    Central Heating Room Stat problem

Seem to be four pipes. Fully pumped. Two port valve. The pump runs. Honeywell STC6400c programmer. I have a multimeter.

    Central Heating Room Stat problem

Yes, I meant above the ambient temp! No the whole boiler is inactive until the stat is turned down then up again. There are two leds on the control panel of the boiler - one to indicate the burner is on and one for mains power and both are off until I turn the stat up and down. There is one...

    Central Heating Room Stat problem

I have an oil fired Boulter Buderas Camray 5 boiler. The central heating system includes a room stat and a Honeywell programmer. The programmer works OK and I've just replaced the room stat because I thought that was the cause of the boiler not operating as it should but not so. Even when the...

    Surface mounting a spur

Thanks to all. How do I identify whether the socket I propose to take a spur from is itself a spur? The house is 6 years old and has not had any other electrical work done since then so could I assume it's not a spur or is it normal practice to include spurs even on initial installation?
