What adhesive for tiling inside fireplace

I think the idea with the cement backer board is to dot and dab, so less effort to bring it level, especially if the substrate is not. It's only 12mm and liberal backend dabs will fill the missing mortar and such. However your plan seems sound, just a lot more effort, especially if your gaps...

What adhesive for tiling inside fireplace

I followed this for the cement board lining https://www.stovefitterswarehouse.co.uk/pages/lining-a-fireplace Fitter is happy for me to do those bits and will install stove later in year. If you want to tile, you tile over the cement board. Links to products in that post.

Primer that doesnt raise the grain

Is there a primer that doesnt/minimises raised grain on pine? Long story with damage during transit and quick replacement, I have all new unprimed pine skirting boards fitted. I'd like to minimise the effort painting these and if there's a primer that won't raise the grain (much/at all) please...

Electric theft by EV owners causing charge points to be switched off.

OK, I do admit that when I now drive the ICEs, I do enjoy high revs, the occasional wheel spin and throwing it round corners in a way you cannot in an EV.

Electric theft by EV owners causing charge points to be switched off.

I've a Tesla. 300 odd mile range. Chargers at work. Charger at home. Electricity cost is 1/3 compared to diesel, per mile. Don't need to travel for work, predictable mileage (maybe 30miles a day) Absolute win. Also the acceleration of an EV is awesome. Still have a petrol and diesel cars. EV is...

Repairing telephone wiring and junction boxes.

When I moved to current house (sounds just like yours, not been touched for a long time), the phone point also terminated in a brown junction box and crackled / was too poor for broadband. On the advice from here, I called my provider and told them there was no "NTE", a network termination...

    Corner crack in room

Any chance you did it when removing that skirting board? Looks like the angle bead has been knocked/tugged/disturbed and cracked the plaster over the wings. I'd dig the loose stuff out the crack and fill.

Cheers @JohnD I thought as much. Have been busy - new radiators and replaced / insulated all central heating pipes. Added spurs so there's a sane number of sockets in each room. Cat 6 laid. Alarm cabled moved New water main in. Air bricks cleaned. Just the pesky gaps to sort

Stopping drafts while skirts are off

Prepping for a new parquet floor being laid over the suspended wooden ground floor. Now the skirts are off, I have a chance to block the gap between the floorboards and wall before the ply is laid. I was originally considering something like compriband (until I saw the cost per m and the...

Does extension within 3 meter require Building Regulations' approval?

Pretty sure once a radiator has been added it's no longer a porch. Someone who knows more can comment.
