    Todays Job

Know the feeling. The double garage we have just completed, I told him he'd be able to put his Christmas tree up, when we started in October. We managed to complete all the ground work (extras) too. Bonus. Yep. Done that. We once did a biggish job in the run up to Christmas, whereby the roof...

Racists will still be racists (and called out as such) whether they restrict the HR of immigrants or not.

New Corrigated Roofing to replace Onduline roof on Workshop.

A metal roof will sweat and drip, so you need to mitigate the condensation issue. Onduline is about as low end as you can get. We'd just get our flat roofer to torch his 3 layer boot leather on it.

    Advice on chimney

I'm wondering whether the top half of the chimney was reduced at some point (reduced from the left) but then filled in and squared off? The curious run of header high up look like a soot door access or summat? How are the floor joists trimmed out?

Outbuilding Foundation plan - Will this work?

Congratulations. I'm not saying it isn't physically possible, rather he was denied PP, so 4m is out of the question, unless he wants to flout planning rules.

What is missing from my roof?

It looks like the roofers started the first course way too high. They could have made amends with some clever lead-work but didn't bother. The brickwork finishing is poor also. I'm wondering also if the bottom course of the left hand run, should have gone another half tile extra and left a...

Outbuilding Foundation plan - Will this work?

Don't do it. What stops your DPM getting damaged on the front face?

    Finally, a grown-up government.

Most Brexers claim that (since it was a massive failure) it was a yes/no option. The hard core (anti-UK Brexit) voters wanted zero deals and to cut all ties with Europe and inflict as much damage as possible. You tell me?

Oh.... Surprise tied vote in Commons sees bid to re-join customs union progress The Liberal Democrats are continuing their efforts to get the UK to move closer to the European Union in a bid to boost the economy. One of their MPs, Dr Al Pinkerton (who replaced arch Brexiteer Lord Michael Gove...

    Who owns Britain?

Only someone of average intelligence or lower would ask that. Only someone of low intelligence would claim that on an internet forum. Stands to reason. I'm guessing you were a Brexer too. Rarely watch it. Not a massive tele fan. I prefer to read. Oh contraire.

    Does this quote look reasonable?

Correct. It can also get contentious when materials are supposed to be there and they are not. The builder will likely have something written up or agreed to, that means he and his blokes get paid in the absence of scaffold, or the wrong steel beam or the blocks have run out. Even simple things...
