    pointless changing actuator,they can be just as expensive as a full new 3 port valve,it will probably end up passing in which case u would have to change whole valve,bite the bullit and fit a honeywell 3 port valve and u wont have anymore problems :)

    u have a gravity system and this pipe arrangement is completely ok,when u change boiler it will need changing,and the 15mm vent is incorrect,it should be 22mm

    simple test......system completely cold,turn hot water on...does flow pipe to radiators from diverter valve get hot????if it does the diverter is passing,if not ure system is backeeding.

    it the boiler is coming up with a water pressure switch fault i would firstcheck 2 make sure the pipe area near it isnt blocked,this is normally the case.if thats ok i would then start with replacing the switch

    never fit a boiler buddy,they have pump valves as isolation valves and there not designed to be turned off frequently,they can also pass which would be a nightmare :)

    is ure boiler a newish wb greenstar??does it have a mini expansion vessel on the mains cold water inlet to boiler??these greenstars req an expansion vessel to absorb expansion when hw preheat is on if they dont they can make loud banging noises,bg may have come out and just turned the preheat...

    measure the diameter of pipe,order approprite fittings and pipe....i.e 8mm pipe ull want 8mm compression fittings and 8mm pipe-or soldered fittings if u can solder,fit rad and repipe to the other end

    the only time ive had any luck with a ball type valve was on a powermax on the store pump at bottom,it was an oap custard with no ch or hw at half 5 at nite,ill thort bugger it and gambled on them cos i didnt have time 2 drain powermax,couldnt believe it i didnt even get a weep from them!!!!god...

    have u tightened up the little plastic grub screw??if so this should be left open to release air.u can close it up as a temporary thing until u can get someone in to fit a new 1 :)

    if ure gonna go cheap again u will be in same position as ure ferroli at the minute,best to spend that little bit more and get a more reliable boiler,a good vaillant ure looking at possibly 15 years or more out of it :)
