    Query regarding New Cooker Installation

Sorry might have confuse the issue stating my oven at 230v and the op's oven at 240v. Just wanted to show that if it was over 13A if rated at 240v it would be even more over if the oven is rated at 230v (restive load designed for 230v). in fact if the oven is rated at 3200w at 230V then the...

    Query regarding New Cooker Installation

My simple maths says no at 3200w/240v=13.34A. However my oven is rated at 3090w at 230v so 3090w/230v=13.44A and it clearly states in the MI's that it may be fitted with a 13a plug top. Don't figure. I think the usual route is to follow the MI's to the letter. However I am a diyer so an...

Thanks. Will check these things tomorrow. Never considered the filter at the front  Do you guys get a lot of calls only to find (at the embarrassment of the owner) that the filter is blocked?

    Zanussi washer dryer

My girlfriends 7 year old Zanussi condensing washer dryer (Turbo Dry 1200 W1242W) has stopped pumping out the water. Do you guys think it is worth repairing? Also is there any other component it could be apart from the pump? like program dial or control circuit etc. If it were the pump I could...

    Routers

I managed to do a good job of my 2 joints and sink and hob cut outs with some experience of a router. Then bashed a finished worktop lifting it into place. Then made an error cutting the replacement which was a more complicated cut because it was the piece between the two finished bits...

    Toilet seat problem (with photos)

My girlfriend had the same problem. I realised the problem was that the seat was central on the pan but not correct from front to back so the plastic bits were always close to slipping off the bowl. No amount of brute force on the bolts will correct this. I solved it by instead of looking at the...

    Pyrolitic ovens and cabinets

The panels are just the 15mm thick side cover panels. So they just screw to the sides of the oven cabinet so that you only see the edge.

    Pyrolitic ovens and cabinets

I have read the MI's for mine and it make no mention. I did however fit SS cover panels either side of mine to protect the adjacent white cabinet doors from discolouring. Looks good as well if its a SS finished oven. PS check your supply. There are only a limited few that can be plugged into a...

    budget worktop jig

I bought this one when I fitted my worktops. http://www.screwfix.com/prods/83161/Hand-Tools/Carpenters-Jigs/Unika-Budget-Worktop-Jig Seamed ok, but beware it only does 600 OR 616mm worktops without jiggerypokery. Mine were from Ikea at 620mm so that takes a little extra thinking.

    Guttering and house insurance

Sorry cant post a pic but it is made of tough strip material with a tail that disapears between the top of the wall and underside of roof so some slates and felt would need to be removed to replace. Does anyone know how and what this is attached to. The house is a 7 year old converted stone...

    Guttering and house insurance

After the recent very heavy snow around 9M of my girlfriends cast iron guttering has landed in her garden. I reclaimed some and bought a couple of lengths panning to fit yesterday. However a couple of the curved flat brackets have bent and they look difficult to replace so decided on our first...

    Ikea kitchen drawers .....

The sizes I gave were for the carcase without the door so your waste pipes should be no more than around 225 from back of cabinet if you wish to use a wall cabinet draw in a base unit. Possibly up to 250ish because the draws dont reach the very back anyway.

    Ikea kitchen drawers .....

I suspect they have used a wall unit draw in a base unit. This is what Ikea suggested I do to clear my vent stack. A base unit is 580 deep and a wall unit is 355 deep so I guess this would leave 580-355=225 clear. However if you are using Ikea sink and waste assemble this first as they are not...
