Hi Chaps! Newbie here, please be gentle...

Going to be fitting a new Pyrolitic oven in the new kitchen...eventually.

Do they require any sort of additional heat proofing within the cabinet, or to the underside of Solid wood worktops?

Thanks for your insight and experience.

I am sorry I don't have an immediate answer to your question. I suggest talking to your retailer. They should be able to provide sensible answers to your questions & concerns. Pyrolitic ovens reach very high temperatures on a cleaning cycle (500C). They effectively cremate grime & spillage, you simply sweep out the ashes afterwards.

I have read the MI's for mine and it make no mention. I did however fit SS cover panels either side of mine to protect the adjacent white cabinet doors from discolouring. Looks good as well if its a SS finished oven.
PS check your supply. There are only a limited few that can be plugged into a 13A outlet. I bought the AEG B 99697-5 for this very reason because my power hungry induction hob uses the full output of my cooker circuit.

Thank you for your replies so far chaps!

I'll give John Lewis a call, as it's one of their ovens and also one of their kitchens.
I'm in the position to be able to replace my Cooker point cable from the CU, as i'm also installing an Induction Hob.
I've yet to work out the cable needed, but i reckon it's going to be 10mm.

Once again, thanks!

p.s. just wondering how you fitted the SS panels?

The panels are just the 15mm thick side cover panels. So they just screw to the sides of the oven cabinet so that you only see the edge.
