Portable power bank: how long can I run a fan heater?

I've seen you can get portable power banks for £300 say. How long would one of these run a 500w fan heater? I looked up the title of one on amazon: 256Wh LiFeP04 Battery/ 1 Hour Fast Charging, Up To 600W Output, Solar Generator (Panel Not Inc.) for Outdoor Camping/RVs/Home Use Not sure what...

So what is the ideal temperature would you say? @JohnD yes, have used an oven. I guess you're saying 25 degrees is too much?

Smart Meter gives delayed readings? + Cost of running electric fan heater?

Our smart meter from EDF gives delayed readings Go for a shower and the cost has gone up 2p. Yipee! Except, 1 hour later (with almost zero usage - no heating on) it shoots up by 80p say. Expensive shower. :( Are these smart meters meant to be delayed like this? Electric 2KW fan heater... I'd...

    Drying clothes - dehumidifier?

@pcaouolte Oh... I think I'll do some research on that case

    Drying clothes - dehumidifier?

Looking at the specs... I'd say the Meaco looks best. It costs £50 more than the screwfix one - but if run loads, the costs savings would be made up in a few months. EcoAir 300 - 580 watts usage per hour? That's comparing to Meaco's 160 watts per hour Or screwfix one that is 380 watts per hour...

    Drying clothes - dehumidifier?

Thanks for all the replies. The screwfix demudifier is about £150. Amazon cheap ones look something like this: Should I save on wasting £50 and go for the £150 screwfix? Unfortunately, we don't have a small utility room. Tumble drier, the reason we don't have one is because of a mad woman...

    Drying clothes - dehumidifier?

I just saw a video with Martin Lewis He was talking about getting a dehumidifier to dry clothes. Any advice on this? I was actually thinking of buying a JML type clothes dryer. Like this The above costs £95 Is a 1000w Just thinking how long it would take to make up the savings in...

£2 an hour to heat the home??

25 degrees Last year, we used to have at 27 degrees Thanks to your feedbacks, I'll experiment with leaving the heating on for longer periods. The worst thing is: it's not even cold yet! The temp is double figures in the middle of the day. Below 10 when it gets dark though. I feel soo bad for...

£2 an hour to heat the home??

Let me give a bit more info... We have a 5 bed semi detached house. The boiler is a new (2 years old), it's a Vailant boiler - Ecotec Sustain I think (it's one of the cheapest ones) and is either 30kw or 35kw. So... what you guys are saying is that to heat up from zero will cost a big amount...

£2 an hour to heat the home??

We've not really turned on the heating... On all days the smart meter reports cost of energy to be less than £1. Happy days. 4 days we've turned on for an hour. On those days the charge on the smart meter goes up £2 after just 1 hours worth of heating. OMG! If we had the heating on for 10 hours...

How to get rid of silverfish?

I've gone through 4 YouTube videos. All were American. I looked on amazon, all products seems to be pretty expensive - £10 on average for a spray. I thought I'd ask here before deciding what to do? Any suggestions? I saw a natural trap that seemed pretty easy: get a glass jar, wrap with...

Where can I get a circular bit of plastic?

Oooh... that's too expensive. I was hoping there would be a 'rubbery' glue. Something that doesn't go rock hard - but has some elasticity in.

Where can I get a circular bit of plastic?

@scbk - very clever. I'll look at other stickers as well. @Old Salt - I'm still thinking about adding a piece of plastic. That might be the best option as opposed to a sticker. The plastic disc will be matt acrylic. The bin top itself... not sure - just rough/smooth plastic. Can't describe any...

Where can I get a circular bit of plastic?

Needs to look presentable. The bin is in an open room. I found a seller selling plastic discs on ebay - 99p delivered. That will do me fine. What glue should I use? As mentioned: the surface is grainy and not smooth. Thanks.

Where can I get a circular bit of plastic?

Hide damage It's a bin from Ikea that they don't sell anymore. The bin is the recycle bin, so not worried about making air tight.
