Relocating stench entry to plastic welded stack

Good advice thanks. I'll start that one tomorrow as I need to lay the rad pipes now so I can get the heating back on this evening.

Relocating stench entry to plastic welded stack

Point(s) taken. Fortunately the plumber who will finish the job is registered, my qualifications extend only to the electrical side, although I've done enough builds to know my limits, and this may be one of them. In the mean time i'm going to start with the sink waste and have bought a load of...

Relocating stench entry to plastic welded stack

If that's the case then I'm screwed as there is another branch just below floor level for the sink waste (that's the white pipe on the right that looks like it's coming out from the floor). The problem is that there is only 1" of 110mm pipe showing between the two branches, so not enough to fit...

Relocating stench entry to plastic welded stack

Thanks. I'll add stripping the stack to the list of jobs to complete the bathroom. Hopefully it will come off easy enough as the downstairs is boxed in. Ideally I'd like to get it in the corner of the room, but will settle for the waste pipes pointing the right way :D

Relocating stench entry to plastic welded stack

Just been up for another look and twisting the pipe tuns the lower half of the stack with it, which is connected to the downstairs toilet, so it only turns a little bit. On the flip side I checked the top of the pipe for the vent and it just vents above the attic floor in to the loft space, so...

Relocating stench entry to plastic welded stack

I may worded my response wrongly as the whole stack turns, not just the branch. I'm'pretty sure it's welded in and the whole branch tries to turn when I pull on the poo pipe. I'm thinking that I need to find a 100mm branch section, preferably push fit, then cut the stack and feed the new...

Relocating stench entry to plastic welded stack

Thanks Doggit. Pulling the poo pipe of the right turns the whole branch. The top section of the stack has plenty of play toward the loft space though. What are the chances that if I cut the branch section for this floor to replace with a new one that I'll be able to lift the stack in order to...

Relocating stench entry to plastic welded stack

Hi guys. I'm in the process of stripping my bathroom ready for a new layout, but I've come up against an obstacle. The existing 100mm poo pipe needs relocating, but everything is welded in. The bath waste position is ok, but I need the poo pipe to come out the left side instead so I can fit...

    Wiring for induction hob

Good info gents. I'll be leaving my isolator on then :D

    Wiring for induction hob

How about on a 40A shower circuit? My shower manual states to have accessable DP isolation, but like you say the CU main switch would provide that.

    Downlight fittings

How about these I posted yesterday - https://www.diynot.com/diy/threads/switching-from-mr16-with-transformers-to-mains-gu10-in-bathrooms.495147/#post-4062943

switching from MR16 with transformers to mains GU10 in bathrooms?

Seems that my local Edmunsons has now changed to 7Core. In the end I walked away with 3 Ansell IP65 fire rated down lights and some GU10 LED's for around £34. Just need to buy a bigger hole saw now.

switching from MR16 with transformers to mains GU10 in bathrooms?

Thanks Taylor. I've seen the covers at B&Q to space out the loft insulation, but I'm hoping to find down lights suitable for for the installation even if it means going fire rated. Wallsal's is essentially Edmunsons Electrical wholesalers BTW. Hopefully better quality than I'd expect for £2 :D...

switching from MR16 with transformers to mains GU10 in bathrooms?

I didn't know that either, but am also in the process of swapping out the old 12v MR16 halogen down lights in my bathroom to 230v GU10 LED's. I'm looking to buy 3 in IP65 & brushed metal as 2 will be above the bath. If anyone can recommend some before I pop to Walsall's?

    Electricians Die

Silly question, but if the cutout fuse takes power away from the Line is there any danger between Neutral and Earth? I only ask as I'm being brain washed (as a preventative measure) to beware of live Neutrals, although logic is telling me that occurs when there is a Line connected somewhere.

    Electricians Die

Poor fellas. Both involving high current supplies. What's the normal practice to remove power to the incomer. Snip the DNO's tag on the main fuse?

    POTW - pointless trunking

I thought it was a section of square drain pipe for a moment, but on the right you can just make out where the cover clips onto the front.

Thanks. I was just thinking that if I were the sparky in that position how would I cover myself if I chose to take the job on. You've answered the question.

This one's a good one If he rectified this would he have to get the DNO to sort the cover on the incoming fuse cover?
