Builder carrying out electrical work - Badly!

Absolutely no issue with two spurs from one point provided the conductors can be properly terminated.

Builder carrying out electrical work - Badly!

The installation is appalling, however assuming you mean a spur as opposed to a "radial circuit", there's nothing in itself incorrect about that strategy.

    Renting out Mum's house

As said, the condition may actually be acceptable. Unlikely, but the installation could be wired recently in HO7RN-F rubber flex.

Wiring query, fixing inside light unit

Yes, strip 10mm of insulation away and just push into those terminals.

    Renting out Mum's house

£3.5-£4k might do it in trunking etc. It would be recommended to spend more than this and get a good install done though with quality parts. That's not strictly true.

    100amp fuse overload

You may need a separate supply for each flat, or suggest other forms of heating, but you don't just add up the rating of every appliance to work out the supply requirements.

Why has my Megaflo tank been installed with a pump on the outlet??

Yes, the secondary pump realistically can be extremely low flow when installed in the correct place since it only needs to replenish water at a rate that maintains sufficient temperature to each tap. It will be restricting flow where it is currently sited.

Water pump stopped in central heating

Boiler M8 pumps do not last long in my experience. When you replace the pump next year, I'd recommend going for the genuine Grundfos pump and also having the valves facing the correct way(!)

    found this under floorboards

I think that's TLC's error. The datasheet attached to that product doesn't mention anything about being maintenance free, also on the website for the actual product they're very careful to say they are using "Wago 221 Maintenance Free Connectors" rather than claiming the product is maintenance free.

Rewire double T5 luminaire for LEDs?

You would probably be better served to replace the fitting with something designed to sink the heat away from the LEDs. Is there a reason to keep the original fitting?

    found this under floorboards

It's using maintenance free connectors, but without the proper maintenance free box, they do not form a maintenance free junction box. There's no MF or BS5733 markings on the box to indicate otherwise. Wago 221 for example require the levers to be held closed by the enclosure, which this box...

    found this under floorboards

I can't see any claim it's maintenance free, certainly no BS5722 or MF markings on the enclosure.

How Do I Crimp This Cable To Add a Bit of Length?

It's normally absolutely fine. If you look in the datasheet for any mainstream manufacturer it mentions for stranded or solid cable. It actually makes no difference anyway with a properly fitting crimp since when you crimp the conductors, you're effectively deforming a solid mass of copper...

    New lights thin wires

There's a difference between overload and short circuit. It depends on the impedance as to whether it would allow the MCB to trip under short circuit conditions.

    Washing Machine Waste Pipe

Easiest thing to do is fit a washing machine standpipe. Don't just try to box it in. Something like a McAlpine WM3

Unrelated to the original question, but there looks to be overheating of the neutrals in this picture.

Is this a lead water supply pipe?

Many water companies will subsidise the replacement of a lead water supply. Worth checking the website of your supplier.
