F75 error Vailent boiler - no running hot water

It's in a rental. I think the plumber wasn't sure at the time so did both just in case and to save a revisit and a further delay.

F75 error Vailent boiler - no running hot water

Hi, As per the title, no hot water at the taps. The tap runs hot but then cuts out with the F75 code. Any thoughts on what it could be before I call the engineer out? Anything a lay-person can try? I tried switching off and on again but no difference. It had a new fan and PCB in 2021 and the...

    Free school meals

If you want to suffer a stigma try being a vegetarian kid at school in the 70s. And later, free school meals also. Parenting eh. You / they don't realise the nightmare they're setting up for the kids with their 'fancy' ideas.

    Washing Machine Bearings

It can be done according to YouTube. However, the massive ball-ache in doing so AND if you can actually get replacement bearings / bearing kit, then it seems just not worth it.

Is it ok for shower bar valve thread to be exposed?

I'm not a plumber. However, leaking....? of course not ok What I'd have thought though is that he hadn't cut the pipe back far enough and so the fitting did not sit far enough back against the wall. Solution, remove bar mixer, shorten tails, refit. Test.

    Reducing from 100cm to 90cm

Tbh I think keep with the 100cm. Imo it's going to look a bit odd with a 50mm gap either side of the worktop ends. It'll also be a perfect trap for food and other detritus to fall down. It'll look like you've tried to save money / being a cheapskate. We get the same issue when someone puts in a...

    Temu tools

I had heard that Temu's business model is in the harvesting of personal data more so than in the sale of it's goods. Hence I presume, their ability to give away tablets etc for free, just to get you to sign up. Personally, I'd stay away from them, 'good deal' or not.

    Fireplace surround repair

I would use filler but in addition, scrape back the paint and a mm or so depth of existing then use mesh tape to provide a good joint. Otherwise it is likely that the join between the new and old will always show with a crack.

Are you preparing for the incoming collapse of the UK ?

Christian lol! Extremist clearly. It's people like you that create the wars.

Can I claim against builder for damage? (Ed.)

Save your stress and time and just put it down to experience. These things happen. Just don't use him again or recommend him to others. You can moan to chap. You can have sleepless nights but, given a year or so down the line it'll have long blended into other of life's little troubles.

    Excel help?

Got it working. There was an exclamation mark missing. =INDIRECT("["&$C$1&"]Sheet1!$A$5") I'm now trying to get it to work with the sheet name as a user-inputted variable as well as the workbook name, but without success. I can get them to work separately: =INDIRECT("["&$B$2&"]Source!$A$5") -...

    Excel help?

Didn't work. Returned a #REF! error. I've tried running through with the inbuilt Help for functions but still can't make it work. At least having the 'INDIRECT' function that you offered, I have a start though. Thanks for that. I'll keep persevering ;)

Briggs & Stratton engine carburettor gasket?

My other mower, also a Briggs & Stratton, I also had carb issues and he (I think) was very good with his explanations. A very clever set-up those carbs. I don't think he covers my model. I will have a look as Burnerman says above. I did give it a blow but possibly not hard enough.

    Excel help?

Thanks both. Workbooks are not protected, so at least that reduces the problem a bit :) See attached screenshots as examples: Lets two workbooks; and one sheet in each ie Workbook1.xls sheet1 and Workbook2.xls sheet1 Workbook1 contains 3 cells in column A that are linked across from Workbook2...

    Excel help?

Anyone here an expert in Excel? I've tried the Excel Help Forum but had no responses. I'm using 2003. I use Excel to log expenses and do my accounts with Totals data 'linking' from one sheet to another. This is repeated year on year. The trouble is that at each year I have to re 'copy-paste...

Briggs & Stratton engine carburettor gasket?

Thanks for your thoughts. I think so. I will check again at the weekend. It's gravity fed from the tank and the carb bowl has fuel in it so it's not fuel starvation up until that point.

Briggs & Stratton engine carburettor gasket?

It doesn't have a primer bulb, just the lever with choke at one end, run in the middle and idle at the other. The fact that it runs with fuel squirted into the carb but then nothing would suggest fuel starvation or perhaps (talking to my son), poor compression not producing enough 'suck' maybe.

Briggs & Stratton engine carburettor gasket?

R484TR How important is the paper gasket between carb and air filter? My mower will not start. If I squirt fuel directly into the carb it fires smoking like hell, burning that fuel only but then cuts out. I've removed the carb, cleaned and blown through everything but no joy. The only thing I...
