Live wire from old pump on vented to system boiler

No it is definitely a 15i system boiler. So I presume that u just disconnect the old pump on the old vented system and the microswitch will turn the boiler on or the system boiler will sort out the start up itself

Live wire from old pump on vented to system boiler

A couple of installers have mentioned this, So going from vented system to system boiler WB 15i, possibly. They tell me that they have to take a live from where the old pump would be removed to the new system boiler. I don't understand this as I would have thought that when the microswitch...

    conventional boiler and PRV

Thanks Ian Boiler would probably be a WB 12ri. If the pressure vessel was to go in the airing cupboard which is not on an outside wall then I presume that a copper pipe would have to run from the A/C to an outside wall for discharge? What is O/H. ? Thanks

    conventional boiler and PRV

I assume that a conventional boiler doesn't have a PRV so if you are going to pressurize the system where do u put the PRV , with the pressure vessel going in the airing cupboard? Is it a case of putting one in the pipework near the boiler or should it be near the pressure vessel or doesn't it...

    Boiler quote with only pictures

Looks like the new way to give a boiler quote is by submitting images to the installer and he would then email a price. So , a picture of the old boiler, outside wall with existing flue and airing cupboard, if appropriate. Just wondered what the regulars thought about doing a quote this way? Thanks

    Installers and their preferred boiler

Yes, I know that WB get a lot of flack on here and realise that prob not the best boiler but at least they will come and sort it if it does break down. Having said that I know a couple of people with a WB, never had any trouble.

    Installers and their preferred boiler

That makes sense, suppose better to have someone who knows the boiler inside out. Than possibly only fitting his second one Thanks

    Installers and their preferred boiler

Thanks for that, just that decent looking small co came round and is obviously pushing Vaillant which I don't want because of their lousy customer service and if you call them out under warranty u still have to give your credit card up front in case it's not a boiler problem.

    Installers and their preferred boiler

Installers seem to have their preferred choice when it comes to fitting boilers. Some prefer fitting WB some Vaillant, etc. when questioned they will fit other brands ie Vaillant preferred will fit a WB. Is it better to stick with the boiler that the installer prefers simply because all his...

Advantages of sealed CH system over vented

I am going thru the same dilemma myself, an ancient system going pressurised, I would go for open vented again but it is not possible because the f& e tank is no higher than the boiler. So I have no choice but take the risk. Chances are u will be ok but the risk is there and when u look at...
