Could you/would you run a plug socket off this?

OK without wanting to de-rail this topic ... I might have learned from a previous mistake. Many years ago I fitted a loft light and couldn't work out why it only worked intermittently until I eventually realised the cable I took the power from was for the central heating so the light would only...

Could you/would you run a plug socket off this?

Hi - this is a plug-in Nest outdoor camera (not the doorbell). It's powered with a simple 3-pin plug. What you're saying above is exactly what I'm thinking. The camera can't use that much power so should be fine right? Incidentally - I have a Nest doorbell too and these are SO much easier than...

Could you/would you run a plug socket off this?

It’s just a standard plug: I’ve no idea about the other. Is it a big problem if it doesn’t have an RCD?

Could you/would you run a plug socket off this?

I have this junction box in a barn attached to my house - currently feeding a floodlight. The other end of which appears to go in to a fluorescent light - not sure where it goes after that! I want to put an outdoor Nest camera nearby and wondered if I could just run cabling some from this...

Replacing outside lights - replace connector block?

Yeah they're a bit 'black' looking. What connector blocks should I look for? There seems to be quite a few sizes (amps) available?

Replacing outside lights - replace connector block?

I'm swapping out a couple of outside floodlights and this is what is inside one of the junction boxes. Would you replace the connector block? If so, what size connector block should I get? The wiring looks a bit worn too so it would be a good idea to re do the end too right?

    Struggling to drill into wall

I'm need to drill some 12mm x 40mm holes into an old Welsh cottage wall (which I'm guessing is made of old Welsh rocks!) but really struggling. I'm fitting climbing holds to make a climbing wall! I bought a nice new drill bit but it's not having it. Any tips? Maybe my crappy old drill isn't up...

    Poor carpet join

Thanks. To be fair to the company they’ve been out to look at it and even seem prepared to replace the whole thing. I just want to assess my expectations! I shouldn’t be able to see any evidence of a join whatsoever right?

    Poor carpet join

Anyone know about carpets? Had a nice carpet fitted a month or so ago by a local reputable company. I knew there would be a join as the room is wider than the carpet. I’ve had joins before and they’ve been invisible but this one is very visible. It’s also coming apart at the join in one place...

    Is this an LED light?

So I'm going to have to replace this. Any recommendations for brands to go for? Everything on Amazon seems to be the usual Chinese rubbish :(

    Securing hosereel to plasterboard?

I think there's only a couple of rows of brick - I reckon the rest is just plasterboard. Will have a proper check. I reckon you're right if it is just plasterboard - never going to hold is it. Cheers.

    Securing hosereel to plasterboard?

I have a little 'utility room' in an outside barn and was hoping to attach this hose reel to one of its walls. I'm pretty sure it's just a brick foundation then just plasterboard. This is the wall mount kit: https://spares.hozelock.com/60m-wall-mounted-reel-wall-bracket-and-fixings-z21715.html...

    Is this an LED light?

Am I right in thinking this is an LED floodlight? They should last a good while right? This one looks fairly new but isn’t coming on. What should I look for? Grey cable runs into a fluorescent tube light which works ok.

Where can I get a wet room shower screen?

Thanks for your help Andy. That’ll be too big unfortunately as it’s a very small room. I’ll keep looking.
