You could probably hire a pressure tester but easier and cheaper just to make the joints properly with a smear of hawk white or similar on top to be sure.

I'm going to say theat somehow one of the cylinders has probably been stagnant for some time and with recent valve problems he's had his handyman has somehow adjusted something to make one of the stagnat cylinders become active.

Turn off the power and remove live and neutral wires from the terminal box and check resistance with pump connected. Should get about 200 ohms. If you do pump and wire ok. If you get infinity / OL remove live and neutral pump end too and twist together and test as before, if you get couple of...

This is a new one on me, vaillant system boiler and uvhw cylinder. Cold water is fine, hot water has a strong vanilla type of chemicalish smell. Anyone ever had anything similar?

Easiest way is just to put a tray under the rad valve and crack the nut so it drains from there. You'll need to snatch the valve to a point as the auto air vent in the boiler will probably still bo openso it will slow right down but not stop....have some towels handy
