Cheers, I'll give that a go instead, are they ok to fit in a fairly confined space?

Is this 20mm mdpe, is Speedfit a good way to cap it

Got to a section clear enough to cut and get a fitting on. Doesn't look too bad, so hoping the Speedfit will do the job, if it doesn't is this the sort of thing you mean Madrab? https://www.toolstation.com/mdpe-stop-end/p30111 Is that a compression fitting? I'd actually prefer that if that's...

Is this 20mm mdpe, is Speedfit a good way to cap it

Cheers for reply. I'll be capping it near to where is tees off from the incoming main (larger black pipe). It's all under concrete yes and possibly under a partition wall.

Is this 20mm mdpe, is Speedfit a good way to cap it

Hi I'm guessing this is 20mm mdpe pipe? The pipe is no longer in use but is still connected to incoming mains, presumably somewhere under concrete floor (2nd picture). What's the best way of cutting and capping it so i can remove the pipes in first picture? Looking at the Speedfit stop end...

How to seal this shower tray

No worries, good luck. If you're ripping it all out soon then doing that should suffice for now. Repair work later on may not necessarily be expensive or difficult, especially if there's no signs of damp on ceiling below, it could only be a small section that's suffered. If you can access the...

How to seal this shower tray

I see what you mean, sorry. I think generally between the tray and the white wall panels. But I would try and get a bead of sealant where the frame meets the wall and along the bottom of the frame where it means the shower tray too (underneath the frame, just make sure it's clean and thoroughly...

Best way to hang a 80lb punching bag in garage.

When his kids get older he'll buy a bigger punch bag to practice on first. Anywhere on this timbers will be fine for that weight, but as stated above nearer to the eaves the better, but anywhere will be fine.

How to seal this shower tray

As foxhole said, all old sealant needs to be removed, all limescale, all dirt, mould and muck. Shower tray needs to be firmly fixed in with no movement at the joints. Clean thoroughly then wipe with meth spirit and allow to dry thoroughly, then a good quality flexible sealant, smoothed off with...

    6mm insulated tile boards

Morning, Going to be tiling several floors at home, 10mm porcelain tiles. Will be fitting some 150w electric underfloor heating mats first, then tiling over. There is currently no insulation in the floors, which isn't ideal as I understand the UFH would be much better with some, but don't...

Boiler size for wet underfloor heating

Was on their data sheet, I would take all their figures with a lunch of salt though, yes, I'm sure they are inflated for marketing reasons. 50-55⁰ for water water would be plenty hot enough, it wasn't water temperature that was the issue before, it's the amount of available hot water. So...

Boiler size for wet underfloor heating

Fastwarm claims typical output is 76w/m2, we'll tiling floor throughout with their 20mm boards and 16mm pipes. They claim you can tile directly on top of their 20mm boards. Available floor height for buildup in most rooms is only 30-40mm, so not much room for insulation. Was looking at the 6mm...

Boiler size for wet underfloor heating

Thanks. Air source heat pump? What sort of size would be required? Would a heat pump be able to supply our hot water too though?

Boiler size for wet underfloor heating

Hi, What size electric boiler should I be looking at to serve a low profile wet underfloor heating system? (Gas & oil not an option). Looking at Fastwarms 20mm low profile underfloor heating, won't be much in the way of floor insulation as I'll be retro fitting over existing concrete floor...

    NU Heat LoPro Max UFH

Hi Been considering options for a new heating system in a bungalow renovation project. Total floor size is...

Splitting supply to 2 underfloor heat zones

We're in a remote location, so no mains gas. It's a big house, but outside space is a premium so don't want oil or LPG tanks. We've only just moved in but I've seen previous readings of what the solar generated and it's quite good, and as I said it's a well insulated property (400mm rockwool in...

Splitting supply to 2 underfloor heat zones

On economy 7 around 15p night, 30p day. The place is all electric and we prefer to keep it that way (has oil fired boiler which has died), so electric heating is only option, having rads with electric combi would be same running cost surely? Place is very well insulated though, so although it'll...

Splitting supply to 2 underfloor heat zones

Thanks for the answer, so as long as I'm under 13a for each one then that's a yes, as long as it's via an FCU? Sorry, I forgot to mention, I'll be doing the work but an electrician will check and make final connections before signing off, I was led to believe that's allowed? I'll run all this...

Splitting supply to 2 underfloor heat zones

Hi, Installing some electric underfloor heating in 2 rooms, both will total approx 3kw each (20m² with 150w/m² mats), each on a 16a thermostat with 2.5mm² running to CU on 16a breaker each. However as there is limited space available in CU can they be connected to a single 32a breaker, then...

Best option for hot water supply

Electric is pretty much only option, yes, we're in a rural area, no mains gas etc. Don't really want oil or LPG so prefer to stick with electric only. We have sola panels on the roof currently not doing much, so was looking at the solar ready 300l Megaflo...
