Vaillant ecoTEC - Pressure increasing over time (when cold)?

Thanks, I don't have a lot of confidence in one of the plastic knobs. so could well be the case. Do you know if it's possible to close the valve without them, perhaps unscrew the knob and turn valve with pliers/screw driver?

Vaillant ecoTEC - Pressure increasing over time (when cold)?

Hi, The water pressure in my central heating system is increasing over time. Last week the pressure in the system was 2 bar when cold. I reduced it to 1.5 by draining radiators. 7 days later it has crept back up to 2. Yesterday it was 1.9. Could the inlet valve be slightly open (it feels...

Is it possible to Powerflush and fit in a boiler in a day?

I believe it's possible to use the existing flue hole but would need to drill a hole for the drain from the boiler

Is it possible to Powerflush and fit in a boiler in a day?

I currently have a defunct Ferroli Combi 77 FF. The quote is for a Vaillant ecotec pro 28. I have 7 radiators of varying ages but all with adjustable valves. I've now had three quotes for installation of an ecotec, £2000, £2300 & £2600. These include a wireless room stat. The £2600 guy...

Baxi Duo-tec Combi 28 HE - any good???

I had a quote this morning to replace my boiler and the guy recommended a Baxi Duo-tec Combi 28 HE. Are these any good, he brought out a copy of Which? magazine where it was a "Best buy"? Says he's fitted lots and has had no problems. I asked him to quote for a Vaillant too just in case...

The fan in my Ferroli is stuck full on, new P.C.B time?

I checked the relay and it's not stuck. It moves on when the electricity supply is switched and activating the fan. I've been saving to replace the boiler in the new year as I knew it was only a matter of time. It just had to get me through this Xmas... I suppose it's not possible...

The fan in my Ferroli is stuck full on, new P.C.B time?

I came home last night to a cold house and a noisy boiler. The fan was full on and making a real racket and the pilot light was out. The only way to turn off the fan is by switching off the electrical supply. As soon as you turn the electrical supply back on the fan starts back up at full pelt...

Ferroli Combi 77 FF - strange noises within?!

Hi, I have a Ferroli Combi 77 FF. For the last 12 months it has behaved itself but as of last week its started to make a curious and rather ominous sound. It's difficult to describe but it's now louder on start up and stays slightly noisier. Once running it falls out of step at random. It...

    Removing/replacing telephone junction box?

Where the telephone wires enter the house I have what's left of an old brown junction box. See photo below. [/img] The box below it is unused. A 1 metre length of telephone cable, only two wires from it used, runs from the brown box to the socket shown below: Amazingly the phone...

Where can I find reasonably priced door portholes?!

I'd like to add a door porthole or vision panel to my bathroom door as a finishing touch. I've seached the web and found the sites of Philip Watts Design and North 4. Both offer very nice products but the prices certainly reflect this :( . I was wondering if anyone out there could recommend...

Anyone have the key to unlocking a possible airlock?!

Yes stopcock is open and I get hot and cold water upstairs just not down...? I opened the cold water washing machine valve last night and a small amount of water was released but then it stoppped. I've bled all the radiators throughout the house.

Anyone have the key to unlocking a possible airlock?!

I don't think it's the tap so possibly something I've done to the pipe work... which is rather worrying!

Anyone have the key to unlocking a possible airlock?!

I've recently re-fitted my bathroom and drained my sealed central heating/hot water system in order to do this. Last night I re-pressurised the system and bled the radiators but now have no water, hot or cold, coming out of the downstairs kitchen sink mixer tap. I presume there must be an...
