Adding external light to electric garage door opener

Ok guys, I tested the middle connection and it is a switched live. When I open the garage door the connection go's live and stays live to the point the onboard led courtesy light go's off. With this in mind do I just need to connect my new 12v external lights directly to it? Do I need to use...

Adding external light to electric garage door opener

Hi SFK, I tested the contacts, using the far left and far right contacts and I'm getting 12v so I'm guessing the middle one is the switched live, would you agree and if so would the module in the ebay link do the job?

Adding external light to electric garage door opener

Thanks guys. I agree it's not just a simple connection and therefore requires an add on PCB, problem is I have literally searched the globe and can't find one or even one from another manufacturer that I could use.

Adding external light to electric garage door opener

Hi, I have a GRD+ Gliderol motor on my roller garage door. I want to fit an external light that is connected to the motor so when it activates the light comes on. There is a 3 pin connection on the main PCB within the motor housing which states it is for an external light. However, I believe I...

    Priming plywood floor

Hi, could anyone tell me if it is still necessary to prime an over boarded timber floor please, the over boarding is 15mm ply and I will be using Mapei Super flexible Grey Tile Powder Adhesive. If it does can anyone recommend a product as I'm aware PVA is not the way to go!

    Mortar between concrete window sills

Could anyone recommend a product that will remain in place within the joint of an external concrete window sill please. The sill is made up of 2 precast sections with the mortar joint in the centre. There is nothing on the underside of the joint to stop the mortar falling out, which it has...

    McCulloch petrol strimmer

Hi John, I managed to secure the welsh plug and I also found some gel like substance in one of the filters which I assume was old fuel. Cleaned this out and its running like a dream, thanks for all your help, it is hugely appreciated. Best regards

    McCulloch petrol strimmer

John, just before I try, its dome side up and do I need to press it in so it ends up flat or just press it in enough so it stays in place?

    McCulloch petrol strimmer

Hi John, yes, I have to prise it out. There was a new one in the rebuild kit which I put back in but its loose, guess I was too afraid to press too hard but I will try with a bit more pressure. The other Welsh plug in the photo came in the kit but I cant see one in my carb, do you think its...

    McCulloch petrol strimmer

I could only find one to replace on my carb John, the one on the left, does that sound about right? I will try fitting it again but apply more pressure. Do you think this could be the reason its struggling to run?

    McCulloch petrol strimmer

Hi John, the one on the left is the old one, the one on the right I'm assuming is for another mode that was in the kitl as I couldn't find one in my carburettor like this.

    McCulloch petrol strimmer

Hi John, I managed to get hold of a kit and fit it and thoroughly cleaned the carb out with carb cleaner. There was one gasket and one diaphragm extra in the kit which I'm guessing is for another similar model. The only part I don't think is fitted correctly is a sort of steel flat piece which...

    Lifespan of tile adhesive/grout

Thanks, probably best to bin it, don't fancy a tile falling off and going through the bath!

    Lifespan of tile adhesive/grout

I have a tub of tile adhesive/grout which has been sitting in my garage for a few years. When I opened it it had separated with an oil type layer on the top. Will this still be ok to use as I've stirred it and it looks like when it was new?
