    Vcl laying method warm roof

Thats what i was thinking. I will just stop if it starts raining then and put it on hold. Its supposed to be a dry day but we know how that ends up! My main concern was trapping anything. So the theory is that the vcl, and all board joins should be sealed so its its pretty much an airtight...

I can see a lot of debates here, easy to see how new regs are so hard to follow sometimes. I have had an ecir done prior to pulling all this out. The sparky is going to inspect and cert the install and we have agreed on if there is any rectification work he will allow me to sort it myself if...

I think you mis-read my post. When i said whats the idea behind this i was referring to specifit type of cable clipping under floors. I did it off my own back because i didnt want wires dropping down when i took the living room ceiling down. I did not know it was actually a requirement.

Hi guys. Looking for some advice on whats best to do regards signing off electrical work. I have rewired my house while plasterboarding and decorating. All to regs. All wiring is in safe zones, in capping at the correct heights, hard wired interlinked smokes and heat detectors. Usual dual rcd...

    plasterboard choices for bedroom

You have a good point there woody. Well on that note I think I will definitively insulate the cold exterior walls. I can make use of all the other boards on internal walls. Can insulated board be fitted to ceiling without vapour layer?

    plasterboard choices for bedroom

Hi guys, really appreciate the replys. Well, main concerns are I don't want a damp issues in the future. There's no problems at the moment but it's old plaster so more worried about creating a problem. I'm not too concerned about trying to make it super efficienct. More about avoiding...

Thanks for your reply. I was told about those foil ones before. Deffo not considering those. If I'm honest I'd prefer to stick to the 12.5 unless I should really not.

    plasterboard choices for bedroom

Hi guys. So I finished a front bedroom a couple months back and all went well, plasterers were well happy with the job, I'm looking at doing some more rooms now but doubting my previous material choices. I took the old ceiling down and put up 12.5mm plaster boards and took the walls back to...

    garage slab. sand blinding?

Hi fellas. I'm doing the ground work on my garage slab. It's mostly done now but I got a question regards to sand blinding layer before dpm. Do you need to do it when using compacted type 1? Reason I'm asking is 3/4 of the garage is deep enough for both 150mm type1 and sand but the top isn't...

really made a boob on this plasterboard!

Bit of an update. I found out why I never put the screws in that board. I had forgot that the ceiling rafters was out by a mile and I forgot to correct it before wall boarding. Popped the board down and lowered the rafters now it's about a 5mm gap so all sorted!

really made a boob on this plasterboard!

It sure is mate. Iv done most on my own but our house is funny sloped ceilings and as you said beams are miles out. good point on being wide enough I had that issue too. Probably why it annoyed me so much not noticing those screws when I did the walls! Skim shouldn't have any issues sticking to...

really made a boob on this plasterboard!

Haha nice . Even that might not cover it !! Should have known it would go wrong at some point. Best of it is this was the last room and the easiest. Other options I thought was to cut a patch out and place another board in it. Pretty sure I could just fill it with dot and dab but really not sure!
