    DIY Bath panel

I had thought about that. The last house we lived in they'd used the wall panelling to make a bath panel, but it wasn't a P bath. I'll take a look.

    DIY Bath panel

Cheers for the advice. Thought about replacing sink, but we'd need a plumber and getting them to come and do smaller jobs is a nightmare up here. Might've had a go ourselves, but if anything ever goes wrong in our houses ( not because of things we've done) its water related.

    DIY Bath panel

Me again If you can imagine that the long edge of the bath is on the same wall as the washbasin and there's some pipes running along the floor between the basin and disappearing under the bath via a cut out in the end panel. I want to use soffit for new side and end panels, but I also want to...

    DIY Bath panel

So are the internal fins only attached to the back? Carefully cut along the two long edges to separate ? Would a Dremel multi tool do the job?

I think I need to see a bit of soffit to understand what you mean. Thanks for the reply .

    DIY Bath panel

Might be a silly question, but what did you use to rip the back layer off? Some of the soffit I'm looking at says it's a honeycomb construction.

    Repainting cracked ceiling?

I've often wondered how people manage to paint a ceiling with watered down emulsion paint? Is there a " technique" ? I did try once on newly skimmed ceiling and there was more paint on me and the floor than the ceiling. I gave up.

    Repainting cracked ceiling?

If that's the case I'd just paint it with a good quality emulsion which should temporarily hide the hairline ( by the photo) cracks. From experience ,sometimes filled cracks ends up looking like filled cracks ,if that makes sense, plus if it's not flexible and the issue is the boards, it's...

    repainting rendered patio wall

A customer ( we do gardening and handyperson work) has asked us if we'd give her garden a bit of a makeover. She has a patio area surrounded by a 3 ft rendered wall. The paint looks quite glossy, as if it might be oil based. Is that a possibility? The customer thinks she had to clean brushes in...

    Best water based undercoat primer?

Another one for Leyland trade acrylic. It can also be used on plaster. We used it on all our ceilings after we'd removed wallpaper. They were good enough to paint ( 60s house. Must have been the trend later in 60s or 70s to paper ceilings) , but in the past, despite washing down and rinsing and...

    Replacing tap ceramic cartridge

Thankyou. Our local plumber came with a spanner with a dog leg in it. It was very tight though. Ceramic valve with cheap rubber washers. You could see how much it had worn down compared to the new one, plus feel how much tighter the movement of the tap was with the new one in. Thanks everyone
