    Hi Some info on the construction of the house would be good please ... is it Victorian ? New build etc ? Have you had any work done recently ? If it's blown plaster you will hear it when you tap around the wall... the adhered pieces will sound solid and the blown sections will sound hollow...

    Can you guys cast an eye over these layers please ..... I think it's sand cement mix / skim / woodchip / hardwall / skim ... Just worried that what I think is woodchip is actually that bumpy spray on asbestos based plaster ? Thoughts before I start knocking it off ?

    This is the configuration but the beam is actually where the yellow line is and not as drawn ( because where it's drawn the gable is single skin ( rear of removed chimney stack ) and wasn't great condition to be honest. We moved it closer to the stair well for a more solid fix on the inner skin...

    Its dark at the min so I've grabbed a street view to give you an idea .... the tiles are marley modern with a breathable membrane. Ceiling insulation is that loose fill stuff you can see in the picture ( its roughly 4-5 inches deep ).
