    Front door threshold ideas

Not sure where this fits, so I've put it here. What on earth can I do with this threshold? It is raised up from the main concrete floor. The front door will be painted white both sides. The outside step will remain white gloss. The inside is currently brown lino tiles with a metal angle strip...

    Postcodes

In our new house theres this sticker on the back door, double sided. Why should burglars care that "our property is postcoded"? Or is this referring to writing postcodes on all our stuff? When would this sticker have been issued? When were postcodes invented?

    Moving house etiquette/obligations

Second word of the post was "selling!" I included three wall shelves in the fixtures form as they won't go in the new house but everything else can go. My concern was they move in and get annoyed by all the holes from shelves and pictures. But by that point I guess I'll be free of any obligation...

    Moving house etiquette/obligations

We're Selling our old house. We've already moved out. We've removed all the stuff from the walls (pictures and shelves) leaving screw holes and screws in the wall. Is this acceptable? Or should I take them all out and poly filler it? I have paint to patch it up for most rooms too. Should I go...

    How old is this?

The house was built in the 50s and I'd hazard a guess it's original. Why did mk start having screws top and bottom? Also when were black metal back boxes in fashion? Found in Same house.

    Hire car dispute

The reason the car wasn't inspected at the time is because I collected and returned it at a repair centre but the car belonged to a different company. They delivered and collected it at different times. This was convenient and clearly how they often do this sort of thing. The repair centre...

    Hire car dispute

The point of my real photos would be the meta data attached to them showing the time and date. The metadata on the fake photos would show up my dishonesty.

Aux.... £250 is worth significantly more hassle than £40 in anybody's book.

Yes. Named after the inputs on the back of a stereo. My insurer referred me to them.

    Hire car dispute

conny, I honestly had no knowledge of this damage until I got the email yesterday. You make a good point which is why I will ask for scaled photos if not already supplied when I submit my defence. Something is telling me the damage is more like 4 inch than 10 inch. And that like most scuffs...

    Hire car dispute

I recently had my car in an insurance repair centre for a couple of days. It needed a new bumper following a minor collision involving a van's towbar being reversed through it. Anyhow, whilst my car was in the garage, I was given a brand new Focus to drive around in. Happy days. 1.5 Diesel...

    Schneider lisse. Discuss.

This stuff any good? It looks nice and we're thinking of having it in the hallway and bedrooms, just in plain white. I've never heard of the range til I saw it on screwfix.

    Shower Cable

Every other shower in the world is better than an instant electric shower. If you can, given you're totalling the bathroom, fit a mixer shower. Run off a combi, it'll be far better than an electric shower. If you have gravity stored hot water, fit a pump.

House refurbishment project. Plenty of pictures.

No I believe they are Eaton branded. All new, but our daughter has been getting merry with paintbrushes. We are replacing them for MK sockets room by room as the decorating is finished. In the living room we will have metal sockets.

skirting in the master bedroom looking pretty smart painted in satin. boiler cupboard looking nicer painted white instead of poo brown. bathroom mirror unit. I am capable of putting this up but it needs a hole drilling in the back of it for the lectric to get in, but not sure I have the right...

House refurbishment project. Plenty of pictures.

I've had to catch up here myself today to remember where I got up to. So since the last set of pictures, the joiner has finished the stairs and fitted a door under it. The plasterer has been and made all good. Electrician has first fixed under the stairs (light and socket) but not been to...

    What's caused this?

Parts of it were bare wood yes. only little bits where the paint peeled off when we removed the old architraves. I know this will never be a perfect finish but I guess I should have primed and undercoated these bits before I painted it. only other option is to strip all the paint off the frame...
