Welcome. Good job and looks great. Same with our Makita combi. We didn't have a hammer drill (but had been talking about getting one) but it's my favourite toy now! Surprisingly easy to use considering the weight and size.
Now for insulating and boarding the utility room:D
Ok. Maybe I can try again?
There is actually a DPM under the concrete floor. Looks like the stuff used on flat roofs-some sort of mineral covered material
As I said the floor is 10 mm below the level of the DPC, and the DPM doesn't appear (there's still a batten round the bottom of the walls...
just fitted 5 wood venetians.
Fixed the brackets to the top of the window reveal. LR window which is around 9ft wide (60's house) had to use the hammer drill as reg' drill wouldn't do the job, but the other 2 windows were fine.
Make sure you set the blinds far enough forward to allow for window...
Auction is on 31st Jan'.
It was sold at auction in 2015 for £300k and reno' started.Assume the internal pictures are from around then.
The exterior and structure has deteriorated a lot since then so £279 k starting (finishing) bid is optimistic.
My mate got married there in 2008 but it was...
I recently painted MDF for an flush under stair cupboard door, 2 new windowsills and skirting.
Of course not laminated so used a water based acrylic primer/undercoat. 2 coats as the first just sinks in anyway on MDF.
120 light sand beforehand and then 240 between coats. It dried quickly and...
why did you write novel and then cross it through? I have read "the plethora" of garage conversion posts and do still have questions, which I thought I'd listed and numbered quite clearly?
Thanks for your help anyway.:)
Thanks. That's not clear in the documents I've read. The 3 rd revision of the BREEAM Domestic Refurbishment Pre-Assessment document dated July 2013 states that heating for the tower would be via multiple communal Gas air source heat pumps (GAHP), but the 2nd version of the Sustainability and...
Agreed. Another enquiry, just like Lakanal House. Councils getting away with it-AGAIN. Each Fire and rescue service has a public database of properties that have been served with Fire reg notices . Percentage of private v council owned properties is staggering and many services don't appear to...
Hi. Somewhat confused Newby looking for advice re insulating walls and ceiling of a single skin brick utility room at the back of a garage, adjacent to kitchen.
I assume that this would be classed as a non habitable space so won't have to comply with the U values.
We also plan to add either a...
Apologies, but I wanted to comment re Grenfell.
If you look at the BRE documents re green credentials/energy efficiency submitted as part of the planning application, they stipulated "rockwool or similar". I don't think the change to celotex was never officially amended, at least not in these...
